- About
- CACIM (formally, the India Institute for Critical Action : Centre in Movement), based in New Delhi, India, but with friends and associates in many parts of the world, is an experimental and constantly evolving initiative in scholar-activism and dialogue. Its goal is to encourage a culture of critical reflexivity by creating spaces for critical research, reflection, exploration, and action in the field of socio-political movement; and to make interventions in public spaces that can encourage this culture. The spaces it creates include books, papers, seminars, workshops, courses, listserves, and participatory webspaces. Contact us at cacim@cacim.net !
- Interests
- We work a lot on, around, and with the WSF, and right now (November 2008 on) on the Belem Forum, which we think is a very important development in the history of the WSF, We are therefore trying to contribute to it by organising, together with others, four major events there : • The Politics, Potentials, and Meanings of the Belem Forum : The Significance of the Forum for the Indigenous Peoples of the World • Critically engaging with the principles underlying the World Social Forum • Facing the Future : The World Social Forum, the Global Justice Movement, and Beyond (co-organised with Articulación Feminista Marco Sur (Peru), Democracy and Social Movement Institute (Sungkonhoe University, South Korea), and maybe others) • A Global Labour Charter for Humanity : If Not Now, When ? We are keen to be in touch with and to work together with people and organisations who share our interests !
