  Sixth South South Forum on Sustainability (SSFS6)  


Three events of SSFS6, co-organized by Global U and Lingnan University, will be held on the following dates:


A.    June 24-26, 2019: Summer School on “Understanding Nuclear Issues”. Rebecca Johnson, Founding President of The International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) that was the 2017 Nobel Peace Laureate, will be the speaker to explain issues about nuclear power plants, nuclear weapons, and the status of peace movements today. The Fukushima Pamphlet Committee from Japan will present a case study of the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant disaster.  


B.    June 28-30, 2019: Forum on “Ecology, Livelihood and Community Regeneration”. Rebecca Johnson, Katherine Gibson, among others, will be key speakers at the Forum. To enable in-depth discussions, papers will be made available in English and Chinese one month before the Forum.   


C.   C.  July 1-3, 2019: Workshop on Architecture and Urbanism. Eka Swadiansa will be coordinator of this Workshop co-organized with SPIRIT_45. 

 In addition, on June 27, a visit to local communities in Hong Kong will be organized. There will also be public lectures given by some Forum participants on July 1 and 3. 

As is the practice in previous South South Forums, a registration fee will be charged, and accommodation at Lingnan University student hostels will be available at a low rate of HKD250 per room (twin bed) per night.
