INVITATION TO REGISTER AND PARTICIPATION IN FSMET WITH INITIATIVES AND ACTIVITIES

Dear actors of the transforming economies,

The FSMET is proposed as a meeting, exchange of experiences, public debate and confluence space to strengthen the transformative potential of the other transformative economies (see a description of these economies in the lexicon here ) that resist capitalism, neoliberalism, patriarchy , to racism, anthropocentrism and the rest of inter-related structures of oppression of our current system. Is the unplayable challenge of going towards joint actions included in a Strategic Agenda, and of offering the world guidelines to assume practices and visions of economies for life, reflected in a diversity of concrete initiatives with its goals? more specific tasks and actions.

( This paragraph is the beginning of the text “FSMET program structure” see the full text  aquí))

Developing a diversity of interrelations between entities participating in FSMET involves several steps of dialogue, before during and after the FSMET 2020 event in Barcelona, from the dialogue on general matters, to the dialogue on evaluation and articulation of certain transformative initiatives brought in the FSMET by participating entities

The FSMET process is a unique opportunity to dialogue (within the framework of self-organized activities by participants) around visions, challenges, needs of these economies, and also in large part about tasks and actions (initiatives) of struggles, campaigns, projects transformers, existing and future. We want to welcome a broad and plural participation, including the multiple forms of collective action and the practices of the Transforming Economies .

From the FSMET facilitator group (Coordination Collective, Commissions, Technical Team) we send you in December a document on “how to participate” (see  aquí))
We are happy to announce that the “FSMET registration space” is open, and we are looking forward to this

INVITATION TO REGISTER AND PARTICIPATE IN FSMET WITH INITIATIVES AND ACTIVITIES

We invite you to:

1 / Register personally in the FSMET process, with or without relationship with participating entities, and if applicable, as a representative of a participating entity
See more information and form to register personally and in relation to your D1 entity aquí  (This step 1 is a requirement to do steps 2 and 3)

2 / Announce / present “initiatives” in the FSMET process " . Initiatives, that is, a generic name to say struggles, campaigns, initiatives, transformative projects ... that your organizations / entities are already doing or intend to build with others and who want to present, articulate, strengthen, through their participation in FSMET.
See more information and form to announce an initiative aquí

3 / Propose “activities” , which are moments of intercommunication in FSMET that your organizations can propose to organize and focus on 3 main objectives: share vision and analysis, on specific issues related to transformative economies, dialogue between organizations and networks, and evaluate articulation , planning on "initiatives" that are announced in FSMET
See more information and form to propose an activityaquí

The time has come to intensify the interactions in the FSMET process using the various webfsmet platforms in a decentralized, participatory and proactive way (more info aquí)

We are waiting for you proactive and articulating in the FSMET process, and we will accompany you as much as possible!

(page to be posted on the web https://transformadora.org/es )

Welcome to the FSMET personal and entity registration space , which will be open between @ 1 Date 1PO and Date 2PO

The registration of participants and organizations is a priori permanent in the FSMET process included after the event (see here )

Here it will be possible to register people and organizations participating.

We invite you to read carefully at least the brief indications, and perhaps more information, before entering the registration forms

Remembering that this step is a prerequisite to be able to announce initiatives and activities

D1A Brief indications

Registration of organizations ( text by Magdalena and Flora with minor aggregates)

The FSMET welcomes all those organizations   committed to the active search for an economic system oriented to the sustainability of life, which leaves behind the predation, exploitation, extractivism, injustices and inequalities of capitalism and neoliberalism. All organizational forms that share this commitment are convened: from global networks to associations and local groups, from ancestral or urban communes to academic or public institutions interested in the common good.

These are the various organizational forms that are part of the broad field of transformative economies, including networks, associations, cooperatives, campaigns, groups, groups and entities of public and social profile.

Organizations that register can participate in the construction of the FSMET program (see instructions here ). This is done by registering activities , (see here ) or by integrating activities registered by others, or by joining the spaces for debate, confluence and thematic exchanges online.

They can also simply meet in Barcelona to share their experiences and proposals under the Program, and be part of the future initiatives that will emerge from the Forum., (See here )

Expanding our mutual knowledge and enhancing the possibilities of exchange and articulation is one of the objectives of this process. That is why it is important that in this registry of organizations we offer substantive information about trajectories, ongoing activities and future lines . (See   here )

This will allow us to arrive in Barcelona with useful elements in the face of a great common challenge: to consolidate and multiply articulations, initiatives, shared agendas, to take a leap from the sector dynamics to more integral ones, with systemic keys to transform the economy.

Below is a series of questions / answers and an example of a completed entity form. If you want to directly access the form for personal and entity registration it is here

D1B Questions answers about registration person / entities in the civicrm-fsmet platform

WHAT IS THE REGISTER IN FSMET

To participate in the FSMET process you must first register personally in a system called civicrm

Civicrm-FSMET It is one more platform to participate in the fsmet and allows two important possibilities

UPGRADE

The civicrm password and password that you will receive after filling out the personal registration form will help you update what you have written in your profile or, if applicable, in the profile of an entity you represent or in the description of an initiative on behalf of a group of entities or in the description of an activity on behalf of a group of entities

VISIBILITY

It is expected that the use of civicrm-FSMET will allow to show a series of directories as far as possible interlinked (see document directories here )

Directory of participating entities with the representative persons or persons linked to them

Directory of initiatives brought to the fsmet process with the groups of entities that promote them and access to each entity

of groups of entities that propose

Now that you are ready to register, we want to make you aware of some points

WHAT A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ENTITY MEMBERS AND ENTITY REPRESENTATIVE

Being a technical or declared representative of an entity allows access to the initiative description form (see example here ) and the activity proposal form (see example here ). See case guide here ) This is why it is of practical importance to be recognized as a representative

CONCERTATION BETWEEN POTENTIAL REPRESENTATIVES OF A SAME ENTITY

When you register as a participant, the personal registration form asks if you are a representative of any organization / collective entity / network, which asks you to search a list. Then the form asks if you relate to an organization, collective entity, network (see fields 10 and 11 here )

If you think that you can legitimately consider yourself “representative” of an entity, and that this entity does not appear in the list of entities already registered in FSMET known as “civicrmFSMET”, you can create the record of this entity and you become “ technically speaking” , representative of this entity, and update this sheet.

There you can indicate an email list of people who you also think are legitimate co-representatives of the entity you are creating in the FSMET context (see field 15 in the organization form   here )

If you arrive after another person who has already created the file of your organization / entity (either with your personal email or with a collective email), you can no longer be a 'technical representative' of the entity.

One way to address this point of co-representation is to arrange between several people co-representative of the same entity, and to create a “collective participant” that uses a shared email address between several people and is not a personal email address - In this case it would be good to mention the collective aspect in the username for example mentioning repcol and the name of the organization - “repcol orgX”

Perhaps you can also be recognized as a “ representative declare , by means of a“ co representative ”field (see field 15 in the organization form here ) that the technical representative would fill out when updating the entity file (@ 2 this remains to be confirmed in the civicrm-FSMET team

CASE OF LARGE ENTITIES WITH BRANCHES / LOCAL GROUPS

Yes, to give an example, next to the organization RIPESS MUNDO is the organization RIPESS EUROPA no and the organization RIPESS CATALUNYA.

In other words, it is always possible to create, in an organization that has branches or local groups, a series of entities that have a common name and a specific geographical area.

You can perhaps use the field other people co-representative field 15 in the organization form   here ) so that there is a mini group that takes care of each entity, with people who are in two groups at the same time to maintain a certain relationship between them that are within the same large entity.

HOW IS A GROUP OF ENTITIES REGISTRATION PROMOTING AN INITIATIVE OR PROPOSING AN ACTIVITY?

This group is not registered as an entity (see case guide here ). Rather, the various people co-responsible in this group are convened to define who will fill out the initiative or activity form and become technical responsible for it. This person can also declare, in a special field of the form: field 4 and 5 of the initiative form here , and field 3 and 4 of the activity form here ) the different other entities that make up the group that promotes the initiative or proposes the activity and people co-responsible for this (@ 2 this remains to be confirmed in the civicrm-FSMET team

HOW IS A CONFLUENCE OR MOVEMENT IN THE FSMET PROCESS RECORDED AND FOR WHAT?

The confluences can be chosen in a list maintained by the fsmet collective in the personal registration form (see field 12 in the personal form here ) and if they are not, new “create new” confluences are registered in the list (it is then assumed that there is a corresponding form here ) ( @ 3 clarify ). The people who describe them become an interlocutor for this confluence, but this quality does not give them access to the initiative and activity form. (see case guide here )

HOW A SPACE IS RESERVED IN BARCELONA EVENT FOR A SESSION OF A CONFLUENCE OR MOVEMENT

In practice, people who have been related to / are present in the same confluence space , in their personal registration form, are consulted to know who will fill out an activity form, on behalf of their entity, that They usually participate in the sessions of this confluence, indicating one more in field 3 and 4 of the activity form here . to have a space-moment session in the FSMET event where confluence discussions can occur face to face (see D3 here and D4 case guide here )

In the event program (see lexicon here ) there will be a significant number of such activities

HOW IS AN ENTITY INCLUDED IN FSMET MAPPING?

An articulation of mapping projects proposes a mapping of entities and initiatives of transformative economies. An option is opened in the civicrm-fsmet field 22 entity form (see here ) with several more fields to fill out see mapping ( @ 3B to be confirmed )

WHAT ARE THE “EXPERIENCE” AND “FUTURE LINES” FIELDS OF AN ORGANIZATION?

Expanding our mutual knowledge and enhancing the possibilities of exchange and articulation is one of the objectives of this FSMET process. That is why it is important that in this register of organizations we offer substantive information about trajectories, ongoing activities and future lines (see field 13 in D1C below). These items may or may not mention a link with some initiatives

WHAT HAPPENS WITH EMPTY OPTIONAL FIELDS?

It is possible that at a given moment the mapping commission will ask to fill in optional fields. It may be a requirement to appear in the directory of organizations (@ 4 clarify)

D1D Access to the organization form in civicrm

Remember that it is on the occasion of registering or updating your personal file when you can create an organization file, when you are the first person to mention your relationship with this organization that does not yet exist in the list of organizations

This means agreeing on who is going to be this technical representative person among the group of people who consider themselves as legitimate co-representatives of an organization or branch of organization.

It is good that all people in the group have arranged to register before seeing prerequisites   here
This first person describing the entity or the confluence will be the technical representative of the entity, and maybe you can mention in field 15 of the organization form here the mail of other people so that civicrm also considers them as co-representatives (see questions answers here   ) @ 7to confirm

There is a similar mechanism to describe confluences. (see field 12 of the personal form here ) - the first person to describe the confluence is your technical facilitator. It should be noted that the fact of being a technical facilitator or present in / related to a confluence space does not give access to the activity form (see case guide here and questions answers activated here )

The organizations form is not yet public ! - Meanwhile link to the technical form ( here

D2 / Form and information to ANNOUNCE in civicrm AN INITIATIVE PRESENTED IN THE FSMET

(web page to be posted https://transformadora.org/es )

Welcome to the registration space for initiatives to the FSMET, which will be open between @ 8 (Date 1INI) and Date2INI to be defined (see here )

Here it will be possible to describe the initiatives (struggling campaigns transforming projects) that groups of participating entities (see here ) place and bring in the FSMET process, to be visible in the inter-initiative space, (see here ) to be the subject of discussion in activities, (see field 5 in the activity form here ) to be reinforced and articulated with others, to feed the FSMET futures calendar (see   here ) with your action dates (see here )

We invite you to read carefully at least the brief indications, before entering the initiative form

PLAN

D2A Brief indications about initiatives ( here )

D2B Questions answers about initiatives (here )

D2C Example of initiative description form on behalf of group of entities ( here )

D2A Brief indications about initiatives

Initiatives Registry

By the letter of WSF principles , an important function of the FSMET is to be a meeting space for “the effective articulation” of initiatives , that is, struggles, campaigns, transforming projects ) promoted by groups of participating entities “committed to the active search for an economic system oriented to the sustainability of life, which leaves behind the predation, exploitation, extractivism, injustices and inequalities of capitalism and neoliberalism.

Very diverse initiatives can be registered in names, goals, size, scale, location, to make them visible, discuss, reinforce, plan and articulate them better.

The modalities of action in these initiatives are also diverse throughout the range of non-violent actions, including civil disobedience. A categorization of actions can be mentioned according to the intensity of maximum involvement for the people who participate in them @ 9evaluar

The descriptions of initiatives registered by groups of organizations that respond to the FSMET invitation constitute an important part of the concrete material that will be discussed in the FSMET process .

These discussions take place in the process in the preliminary phase, (see here ) in online forum spaces (see here ), in the event, in the inter-initiatives physical space and in the agora of futures (see here ). They also take place in several “activities” scheduled at the event, whose preparatory entities announce that the initiative along with some others will be discussed during this activity, with a perspective / goal and an explicit methodology (see field 5 in the activity form here ).

The initial descriptions of initiatives will be enriched along the way , while those responsible are updating them in civicrm. Fusion articulation is reflected between previously registered initiatives, or integration of organizations in the group of entities co-promoting an initiative, or more precise planning of public action dates and other possible modifications.

An important dimension is that interlocutions about initiatives in activities or in inter-initiative space strengthen effective coalitions of various sizes with cooperation in concrete actions.

With the initiatives in focus, discussions are rooted and landed, and the FSMET participants are projected in the future, using a FSMET futures calendar (see here ) consisting only of action dates found in the description of the initiatives (see fields 15 to 20 for each action date on the initiative form here ). These Dates actions are updated by the promoter group of the initiative in the online inter-initiatives space, then physical during the event, heading to the agora of futures that may be the final moment of the event (see here )

Articulate for cooperation in a fabric of relevant and effective initiatives is one of our objectives participating in this FSMET process. Dialoging in reference to specifically described initiatives will allow us to reach Barcelona with useful elements for a great common challenge: consolidate and multiply articulations, initiatives, shared agendas, taking a leap from the sector dynamics towards more integral ones, with keys of systemic reach to transform the economy.

After the event , the focus on initiatives is manifested to collect online support at the initiative of participants in the process that did not go to the event and concretizing the planned actions dates as strongly as possible, being the decentralization of action dates an element growth of initiatives

Below is a series of questions / answers and an example of a completed initiative form. If you want to directly access the initiative submission form it is here

D2B Questions answers on initiatives

WHAT IS A DESCRIPTION OF INITIATIVE?

It is a description of struggle, of campania, of transforming project, brought the fsmet. Something that is an existing or projected act and that is promoted and promoted by a group / coalition of entities participating in the FSMET process, which are also found in sessions of confluence spaces . This description of initiatives includes goals, progress, tasks, description of the driving group , description of action dates , description of how it will be promoted in the fsmet event of how it can be supported etc. See the example form here

WHAT IS THE FSMET INITIATIVE BRING?

Its driving entities bring their initiative to the FSMET to make it visible, present, evaluate, reinforce it with support , and new entities included in the promoter group, plan it, and articulate it, merge it with other initiatives.

HOW IS REINFORCEMENT TO AN INITIATIVE SHOWN?

The entities that promote an initiative can propose, in the context of the inter-initiative space , or an activity that discusses their initiative, to write a declaration of support for it. This is signed during the event by an explicit list of entities, and then after the event through an online form (see field 15 in the initiative form here )

HOW TO AVOID SELF REFERENCE IN THE INITIATIVES?

It is important to avoid self-referenced initiatives that consist of nothing more describing what a particular entity does, without proposing articulation.

For this, initiatives 1 / whose promoter group is more than one entity can be considered (see field 4 of the form here ) - with the exception of an initiative promoted by a “network entity” that may include new entities in the network), whose group promoter wants to grow, incorporating more entities, to reinforce the initiative, to decentralize it, to seek support etc.

HOW ARE 1 TO 3 DATES MEANINGFUL ACTIONS OF AN INITIATIVE DEFINED?

The action dates that are part of the description of the initiative (see fields 13 and 15 to 20 here ) can be organic (e.g. blockade part of a struggle) or symbolic (e.g. celebrate and communicate a stage in a project transformer).

The initiative may have a long history before the FSMET event that may be briefly described in field 7 of the initiative form here . In the context of FSMET2020 it is about assessing the next action dates after the event

The limitation to 3 dates is to prevent an initiative from claiming to attribute many actions, and maintain a relationship between actions and relevant capacity of action of a promoter group according to a principle of subsidiarity: initiatives that aim to articulate other initiatives only focus on dates actions of their level, and do not "capture" the dates actions of the initiatives that articulate

The articulation between initiatives can be mentioned in several fields 7 8 9 14 of the initiative form or more explicitly in a specific field 25 here .

IN WHAT IS AN INITIATIVE DIFFERENT FROM AN ENTITY?

An initiative is a "medium-term act in real life" with a time in months and years: project struggle etc, with responsible goals tasks dates action. It is a concept of ACTION, while an entity is a concept of ACTOR (see the diagram here ).

An entity is a permanent organization that has its own actions / agenda where it does not seek articulation, and also participates with other entities of various struggles, campaigns, transformative projects where it does seek reinforcement and articulation support in the FSMET process. therefore, he is interested in presenting these as initiatives in consultation with these other entities that will be described in the group that promotes the initiative (see field 4 here . ).

IN WHAT IS AN INITIATIVE DIFFERENT FROM AN ACTIVITY?

An initiative is a "medium-term act in real life" with a time in months and years: project struggle etc, with responsible goals tasks dates action, an activity is a moment of dialogue of more or less two hours in the fsmet event with a topic a methodology. They are two completely different things (see the diagram here )

WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ACTIVITY AND INITIATIVE THEN?

The group that prepares an activity in the event can announce (in field 5 of the activity form here that it can be updated permanently) that in its activity it will be “taken as an object of discussion“ the ABC initiatives to seek support, compare them, articulate them etc (field 6). The impact of this moment of collective discussion during an activity on one or more initiatives can be very significant

WHERE IS THE INITIATIVE VISIBLE ONCE DESCRIBED ON CIVICRM?

Once described, the initiative is visible online in an inter-initiatives space (through civicrm-FSMET ) Directory of initiatives with co-promoting entities and responsible persons (see here )

and maybe in decidim ( @ 10 to clarify )

Also the group that promotes the initiative can manifest in the online forum (in their own space, or in other spaces)

With the 1 (3) date (s) actions of the initiative, a preliminary FSMET 2020 calendar can be assembled that will be consolidated during and after the event ( here )

When the time of the event arrives, there will be an inter-initiatives space ( here ) where the descriptions of initiatives will be easily visible and where the promoter groups will be able to make presence to interact with other groups and with the FSMET participants (see field 24 of the form initiative here )

ARE ALL INITIATIVES RECEIVED in the INTER INITIATIVES space ?

Yes. There is no selection of initiatives because presentations of initiatives take little space, and it is not up to the FSMET facilitators to select initiatives that are content brought by participants in fsmet. They can only suggest that these descriptions are of quality and articulate with others if there are several similar

Presence of action date   : An important criterion is that there is at least the description of an action date in the initiative see field 13 and 16 to 20 of the file here

Equity of access to visibility Another criterion is that, as for the activities see D3B here and criteria , the same entity cannot be technically responsible for more than 2 initiatives

WHO CAN ANNOUNCE AND UPDATE A DESCRIPTION OF INITIATIVE? EVEN WHEN?

A person who is a representative ( technical or declared ) of one of the entities that form the group of entities promoting the initiative, and who was chosen in a concerted manner among these entities ( here ). She declares which entities are part of this promoter group and which persons are co-responsible for their promotion in fsmet (fields 4 and 5 of the initiative form here

The field update of the initiatives form is possible in the space between initiatives until the penultimate day of the event - to set dates - actions for the FSMET 2020 calendar and an official list of initiatives discussed and present at the FSMET 2020 event

HOW IS THE UPDATE OF INITIATIVES AFTER EVENT?

After the event, in the post event period , the update continues on the dates and description of the dates actions

WHAT IS THE INITIATIVE FORM?

Here   Next comes an imaginary case "concrete" to show the fields of the initiative form

SHOULD YOU FILL ALL THE FIELDS OF THE FORM THE FIRST TIME? WHAT HAPPENS WITH EMPTY OPTIONAL FIELDS?

No. To start the initiative, only a dozen fields must be filled out (those in black here ), then the descriptive sheet can be updated .

It is possible that at a given moment the mapping commission or contents will be requesting to fill in optional fields - it may be a requirement for the initiative to appear in the inter-initiatives space or in the FSMET calendar or a mapping (@ 11 clarify)

WHY UPDATE THE FIELDS OF THE INITIATIVE FORM?

In general, the promoters of an initiative can update the file to show how discussions in the fsmet process are influencing its description: who asks for inclusion to the promoter group , who supports , how dates are consolidated actions etc.

HOW IS AN INITIATIVE INCLUDED IN THE FSMET MAPPING?

An articulation of mapping projects proposes a mapping of entities and initiatives of transformative economies. At the end of the initiative form field 26 here ), an option is opened to find several more fields to fill out see mapping ( @ 11B to be confirmed )

BEFORE YOU GET TO THE FORM you can consult the specific example below

D2D Access to the Initiatives form

Remember that to access the initiatives form you need to be a technical or declared representative of an entity already registered in civicrm (see the case guide here - see the questions answers from personal records here )

It is good that all the entities of the promoter group (field 4 of the initiative form here ) have arranged to register before the presentation of the initiative see prerequisites

It is good that all the people in the group of people responsible for the initiative (field 5 of the initiative form here ) have registered before seeing prerequisites .

You enter civicrm with your personal account and password. To announce an initiative, you have to choose from the list of organizations of which you are a representative, one that is part of an initiative promoting group, (which group you will also describe in the form (fields 4 and 5   Here is organization and person will appear as technical manager    of the group of organizations that co-promote the initiative

D3 / Form and information to PROPOSE in civicrm AN ACTIVITY IN THE FSMET EVENT

(page to be posted on the web https://transformadora.org/es )

Welcome to the FSMET activity registration space , which will be open between @ 11B (Date 1ACT) and Date2ACT

Here it will be possible to propose activities that are moments of self-organized dialogues proposed by groups of participating entities, to be visible, once selected in the pre-program space, to take as general topics such as ET themes, ET challenges, ET needs or take as an object articulations of concrete initiatives

The activities form is also used to request, in relation to a confluence, (territorial, type of ET or transverse actions ET) a meeting point for the various confluence spaces existing in the FSMET process
We invite you to read carefully these brief indications below and maybe some more information, before entering the activity form

Registration of activities ( text of Magdalena and Flora with minor aggregates)

The activities registered by the organizations that respond to the call constitute the axis of the FSMET Program. The initial proposals will be enriched along the way, either by confluence between previously registered activities, or by integration of organizations or other possible modifications. The most important thing is that they foster spaces for mutual learning, exchange and collaboration!

The activities are an interaction between organizations (collective subjects) and not between individuals. They emanate from diverse processes, in their current trajectories and moments, and their goals, topics, forms and methodology reflect this diversity.

All registered activities must be framed in the Charter of Principles of the World Social Forum ( link to Charter ) and will be self-managed. From the initial approach, as stated in the form, adjustments will be made as appropriate as part of the program construction process, in dialogue with the coordinating bodies of the Forum. One of the aspects to be considered together will be the schedules and the availability of physical spaces .

Activities can be registered in the most diverse formats (workshops, seminars, panels, assemblies, exhibition spaces for experiences and debates, micro talks and a long etc.), but taking into account some conditions: ensure mechanisms for participation and debate, seek balance sheets gender, generations, territorial and those that were relevant, stimulate the exchange of knowledge, generate elements of common agenda in the future.

We would like to make the most of this meeting opportunity to go further in a common approach to economic transformation and its paths.

That is why we encourage to imagine activities that connect the experiences and visions that are part of the environments of social and solidarity economy, feminist economy, agroecology, common goods and all those that coincide in similar searches, in the active criticism of capitalism and the construction of alternatives.

That is why we encourage you to imagine and prepare activities that announce which initiatives will be discussed, for what (joint reinforcement etc) and how,

While the FSMET Program is a collective construction, the registered activities will reach a final version as a result of the exchanges produced at this stage, both with the organizing bodies of the forum and with other proposed activities; logistic and definitive calendar issues will also be defined

A selection criterion is the previous cooperation (several entities preparing an activity) and a balance between activities of general discussions and activities of articulation of specific initiatives. (see criteria here )

In the preparatory discussions of April and July 2019, it was proposed that the self-organized activities in the FSMET promote the creation of territorial confluences, movements and alternatives, as well as the reinforcement, articulation, concretization of initiatives brought to the FSMET by its promoters.
On the form and methodology of the activities, the FSMET CC and technical team encourage participants, movements and organizations to go beyond the usual activity formats (such as panels, conferences and seminars), and use all their creativity to present interactive activities that are not self - referential and that foster spaces for mutual learning, exchange, articulation and collaboration!

Once selected , the activities may be supported by the host commission for an accompaniment to the forum in the development of their activities

In the post-event part, the documentation of the activities by their managers will be encouraged , in order to disseminate the experience of the dialogues in the forum to more participants in the FSMET process

We share a series of questions that can serve as a guide when preparing and sending an activity proposal:

  • Is your activity proposal aligned with the vision of the FSMET and within the framework of the Transforming Economies? ( see here )
  • Does it fit into the proposed program structure that we have shared above with moments ? document prepared by the commission and approved by the CC see here

  • Does it help generate spaces for mutual learning, exchange and collaboration between movements, alternatives, communities or groups?

  • Do you have an intersectional and transversal look?

  • Is your activity inclusive and accessible to anyone?

  • Is it relevant and significant for the current problems that are emerging in the world right now?

Below is a series of questions / answers and an example of a completed activity form. If you want to directly access the activity form it is   here

D3B Questions answers about activities

Here follows a series of frequently asked questions

WHAT IS AN ACTIVITY IN FSMET EVENT?

It is a moment of collective dialogues of face-to-face duration of one or two shifts proposed to be part of the FSMET event program with a topic, goal, shape, size, methodology, decided by a group of FSMET participating entities that organize it

WHY PROPOSE AN ACTIVITY IN THE FSMET EVENT?

To contribute to the collective effort of dialogue of visions and / or articulation of initiatives , and to move towards participation goals that have been identified by some participating entities cooperating in a preparatory group (described in field 3 of the activity sheet here ) in the realization of this exercise

HOW TO AVOID SELF-REFERENCE IN ACTIVITIES?

One way to avoid proposing self-referenced activities that consist of nothing more "talking about what an entity does" is to consider the criteria for the activities

IN WHICH AN ACTIVITY IS DIFFERENT FROM AN INITIATIVE?

An initiative is a "medium-term act in real life": struggle, campaign, project etc, with responsible, goals, tasks, public action dates . Its time is in months and years. An activity is a dialogue time of about two hours (one shift ) in the fsmet event, with a topic, a methodology. They are two completely different things (see the entity-initiative-activity triangular diagram here )

WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ACTIVITY AND INITIATIVE THEN?

The group that prepares an activity in the event can announce (in field 5 of the activity form here , which can be updated permanently) that in their activity the ABC initiatives will be taken as a discussion object to seek support, compare it, articulate it etc. (field 6 of the record here ). The impact on one or more initiatives of this moment of collective discussion during an activity can be very significant

WHERE IS THE ACTIVITY VISIBLE ONCE DESCRIBED AND SELECTED?

Once described and accepted / selected “pending logistics capacity”, the activity is visible online in a preliminary program space (through civicrm fsmet) Directory of activities with co-preparing entities and co-responsible persons (see here )

and maybe in decidim ( @ 12 for clarification )

Also the group of entities that prepares the activity can manifest in the online forum (see here )

When the time of the event arrives, the activity will appear located in the program in a physical space and a moment (day and shift )

WHO CAN ANNOUNCE AND UPDATE AN ACTIVITY PROPOSAL?

A person who is a representative ( technical or declared ) of one of the entities that are part of his preparatory group, and who was chosen in a concerted manner among these entities ( here ) She declares which entities are part of this preparatory group and which persons are co responsible for its preparation and driving in the fsmet event (fields 3 and 4 of the activity form here )

HOW ARE SPACES AND TIMES RESERVED FOR SESSIONS IN THE EVENT IN BARCELONA OF EXISTING CONFLUENCES?

A person, who is a representative ( technical or declared ) of an entity that regularly participates in these confluence sessions , takes or receives the responsibility of making the activity proposal, requesting space and time for this session (see here   ) (to register the session proposal see part 1 here and last line of the Registration Case Guide   here

ARE ALL PROPOSALS OF ACTIVITY RECEIVED IN THE PROGRAM?

No. There are selection criteria used by the commission contained

WHAT ARE THE ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA FOR THE ACTIVITY PROPOSALS?

There are several: own, general, chronological, logistic See the lexicon criteria

UNTIL WHEN NEW ACTIVITY PROPOSALS CAN BE MADE

In theory, until it is clear that the number of proposals that meet substantive criteria overflows with the logistical capacity available.

To start, a first activity registration period opens between @ 13 DATE 1 AND DATE 2 in a fairly short window

Note 1 This is a suggestion to accommodate the current concern of the logistics team: propose a very short and very early registration window and promise another later when the linkage / mobilization effort is more developed

Then, the logistic situation is evaluated, contents are seen from the commission which type of activities seem to be needed, and if possible, a second registration opening window is opened for activity proposal with more precise content criteria

UNTIL WHEN YOU CAN UPDATE SELECTED PROPOSALS EVEN IF YOU DON'T TOTALLY CONFIRMED LOGISTICS

Once the proposal is accepted in content, even if it is not logistically confirmed, it is possible to interact between its preparers and the FSMET technical team, to better specify and fill in the optional blue fields see here . The idea is that these proposals are visible in the civicrm (see directories here ) and maybe in online forum

For the basic logistics confirmation (is there space or not?) It may be that, from the FSMET technical team , there is a request to merge some selected activities , which would imply a complete update of these activities and the suppression of some

Once the program is logistically finalized , the activity updates will be received until the necessary period to translate and conform the FSMET 2020 program into pdf is reached. The option of producing a paper program or not will be considered by the FSMET facilitation

WHAT IS THE ACTIVITY FORM?

Here is an imaginary case "concrete" to show the fields of the activity form

SHOULD YOU FILL THE FIRST TIME ALL THE FIELDS OF THE ACTIVITY FORM? WHAT HAPPENS WITH EMPTY OPTIONAL FIELDS

No. To start the activity only black fields are required.

Then the descriptive sheet can be updated and it may be relevant later or until it becomes mandatory, at the request of the FSMET facilitation, fill in some optional fields. It may be a requirement to appear in the pre-program and program (@ 14 clarify)

WHY UPDATE THE FIELDS OF THE ACTIVITY FORM

In general, the preparers of an activity can update the activity sheet (see here ), to show the growing preparation of logistics and dialogue methodology and content of their activity

At a given time, according to the deadlines necessary to prepare the program document, the activity descriptions to produce a pdf or paper program are frozen

BEFORE YOU GET TO THE ACTIVITY FORM you can check here a concrete example of activity proposal

This diagram illustrates the 3 structuring notions of directories visible in civicrm

-The ENTITIES ( see lexicon here making a qualitative distinction between ENTITIES (MOVEMENT NETWORK ORGANIZATION GROUPS) and CONFLUENCES see lexicon here   (MOVEMENT TERRITORIES ACTIONS that are not “entities”, but rather “spaces”, but whose facilitators need to be able to access the activity form to request space at the time of the event)

-The INITIATIVES ( see invitation here - form here - diagram here and lexicon here that are “medium-term” imploded by coalitions of entities. The dates actions described in initiatives are an element of important and required content (which is an initiative without dates direct or symbolic public actions?) that allows to form an fsmet calendar that projects the participants in the initiatives / actions of the post forum period see here - lexicon here

The calendar is not an agenda that implies shared political discourse and priorities. Welcome agenda initiative (s) on behalf of those who want to boost it (s)

-THE ACTIVITIES see invitation here - form here and lexicon here   that are moments of brief dialogues in the event proposed by coalitions of entities - in part they are dialogues about TOPICS such as themes, challenges, needs, in part they are dialogues very focused on some INITIATIVES brought to the fsmet to reinforce them articulate them launch them etc.

D4B Registration Case Guide

This table shows how organizations can be registered, then initiatives and activities based on the registration of a person “representative of an entity / organization”

NETWORK ORGANIZATION ENTITY that have their own way of making collective decisions fill out an organizational form through “representative people” (see D1 here )

COALITIONS GROUPS OF ENTITIES co preparing an activity or promoting an initiative fill out an initiative description form see D2 here or an activity proposal form and can open a space in the online forum (see D3 here )

CONFLUENCES and MOVEMENTS are "spaces" are not entities. To request, through an activity proposal, a space for a session of confluence in the FSMET event, it must be done on behalf of two organizations present at this confluence through the form “activity” (see also note 2 in D12 1C   here )

D5 / TEXT “FSMET PROGRAM STRUCTURE” with annex “forms of participation”

(page to be posted on the web https://transformadora.org/es )

General ( here)

Preparatory phase ( here )

Event phase ( here )

Post event phase (here )

general

The FSMET is proposed as a meeting, exchange of experiences, public debate and confluence space to strengthen the transformative potential of the other economies that build an alternative to capitalism, neoliberalism, patriarchy, racism, anthropocentrism and other structures inter-related oppression of our current system. The challenge is posed to go towards joint actions included in a Strategic Agenda, and to offer the world guidelines to assume practices and visions of economies for life, reflected in a diversity of concrete initiatives with their more specific goals, tasks and actions.

Responding to this challenge will be the guiding thread of the diversity of activities of a program that is built collectively and seeks to achieve concrete results. At the heart of this process are organizations, movements, networks, campaigns, groups, entities and people involved in efforts and searches of economies that place the sustainability of life in the center, which are based on working with just and supportive relationships. , that take care of people and the environment, that maintain knowledge and increase them as a common good, that have opened paths of action, movement and thought towards another economic system.

The FSMET program has three phases or moments: the preparatory phase, the Forum in Barcelona and the post Forum phase. In all of them, face-to-face and digital media will be combined that maximize participation and favor the articulation and confluence of initiatives.

Preparatory phase

As of January, the registration in the process and the FSMET event of participating people and organizations is open (see the invitation to register with practical instructions document D1)

Registration is a requirement to then be able to meet deadlines and, on behalf of organizations and groups, use online forms and open spaces in the Online Forum (*) to

  • thematic debates (around the global situation, the realities / struggles in the territories and the responses from the transformative economies, among others)

  • Announcement of concrete “initiatives” (struggles, campaigns, transformative projects, existing or emerging, that seek reinforcement and articulation in the FSMET process, which can be subject to discussions in the activities (see the invitation to place initiatives document D2)

  • Announcement of “activities”, which are moments of dialogues at the Barcelona event on a great diversity of approaches: visions, analysis, exchanges of experiences, articulations between entities, presentation of initiatives articulation, etc. ( see the invitation to propose activities document D3)

The face-to-face events that are already taking place in different regions of the world (detail or links) are part of this preparatory phase, from which a good part of the activities and proposals initiatives announced towards Barcelona are derived.

(*) See the annex here and the text “how to participate” where you can find information about the online forum

Forum event in Barcelona

The event program will be integrated by the set of activities, initiatives and spaces proposed by the networks, organizations, campaigns, groups and entities that respond to the call and register activities, with a logic of self-management.

In the perspective of expanding alliances, pronouncements and common agendas forward, there are contemplated spaces for assembly, confluence (both programmed through the announcement of “activities” that may relate to certain “initiatives”) (see annex for participation formats )

Self-managed activities will be registered through the FSMET website within the deadlines defined in the first quarter of 2020. They may be of various formats: workshops, seminars, discussion panels, assemblies, training and dissemination spaces, among others, and they may be composed of one or more sessions, days or blocks throughout the days contemplated for their realization according to the general scheme of time distribution. In all cases, concrete results and contributions to the Agenda must be contemplated ...

To do this, without subtracting flexibility (see here ) to the activities and initiatives registered, a dynamic is proposed that considers moments of exposure and analysis, inter and intra-movement dialogue, construction / action. It is about sharing experiences, challenges, needs from the transformative economies (ET) in our territories and globally, locating the most critical expressions of the current capital-life conflict, as well as the alternatives that we have built and that set paths for a systemic change .

These activities and initiatives may be the result of previous confluences and alliances, whether formally advanced in the preparatory phase or from their own trajectories. In some cases, the Coordinating Committee may suggest to its proposing or promoting entities, and without imposing, the articulation of activities, and registered initiatives, with criteria of thematic, geographical or other complementarity.

The event will also have moments or common spaces prepared together with the facilitator team of the FSMET. In a preliminary way, this includes: opening and closing events, march through the city, cultural events, agora of initiatives / futures, space for inter-initiative initiatives, visibility space and mapping of ETs, space of international solidarity with different struggles and movements, space of well-being, rest and care, space of collective care and participation of children, and others.

In both the previous and subsequent days, it will be possible to carry out connected activities, such as internal network meetings, campaigns and others.

Post Forum Phase

The event in Barcelona will be the point of arrival and at the same time the starting point of a process that continues.

On the one hand, from the logic of self-management that characterizes the WSF the results of the event return to the places of origin, the commitments are disseminated and routed through their own channels.

On the other, there are common agendas and tasks to continue, especially the ET Agenda, (see here ) that can be an outstanding initiative, and with the support of the largest possible number of participating entities, among the many initiatives entering into interrelation in the event, the which will all be visible through the publication and update for several months of the FSMET 2020 Futures Calendar (see here )

ANNEX ON THE PARTICIPATION FORMATS IN PROCESS AND EVENT FSMET

1 / Confluence space ( here )

2 / Initiative brought in the FSMET process ( here )

3 / Self-organized activity at the FMET event ( here )

4 / Spaces in the FSMET online forum ( here )

5 / Forms-moments-common spaces in the FSMET process and event ( here )

1 / Confluence Space : (this is a form promoted in the FSMET since April 2019)

It is a meeting and interlocution space between actors from the same territorial area (geographical confluences) or active in the same theme (in FSMET literature sometimes a thematic confluence is called “movement” even if it is not organically a movement).

A confluence is not an organization, therefore, the "referents" are facilitators and are not their representatives. In the confluence space there are no arguments for consensus or "forced" consents. Organizations "participate" or "are present" in a confluence and are not "members" of it. If not, this confluence would be managed like a network, and it changes its nature.

In discussions in confluence spaces, some entities can be identified as having shared interests and ally themselves in “ groups of entities preparing an activity” or “groups of entities promoting an initiative”. The confluences are environments that stimulate this emergence of groups. (vr

2 / Announcement of a self-organized initiative brought in the FSMET process and the FSMET 2020 event by one or more organizations, which form its “promoter group (note this is a form used in the Montreal forum https://fsm2016.org/en / participer / initiatives / and in the panamazonico social forum) http://www.forosocialpanamazonico.com/iniciativas/

“Initiative” is a generic word that covers more concrete words such as struggle, campaign, transforming project, insisting on the autonomy of the promoter group, (unlike the word “proposal” that implies being pending acceptance by third parties) .

The announcement of an “existing” initiative (which is placed in the FSMET process for its reinforcement and articulation) or “emerging” (which would be potentialized / launched in the FSMET event), is made through an online form available on the FSMET website from January 2020 (see here ). Describing an initiative implies defining goals in relation to a vision, organizational tasks and 1 to 3 significant public action dates , which are directly to influence and specify or that celebrate stages of an initiative. The group that promotes the initiative takes care of the formulation, promotion of the initiative and its articulation with other initiatives

It should be noted that, among the initiatives, there may be “ET agenda initiatives”. These aim to gather a large number of organizations that share / subscribe a “vision text and a series of orientations and commitments”. These commitments may include action dates, related to some initiatives selected and prioritized in the Inter-Initiatives space and in the Futures Calendar. (see part 5 here ). There may also be “ET narrative initiatives”, which point to a concerted action to make a “narrative cloud” visible on ET in public opinion

It is understood that a good number of the organizations present in the FSMET coordination committee would be willing, as entities participating in the FSMET, to promote one or more “initiative of the transformative economies agenda ” of this type in FSMET. or more "ET narrative initiatives ."

Within the framework of many cases of initiatives, and in these two in particular, - ET agendas and ET narratives - it may be relevant to take care of formulating “ decentralized action dates ” that allow the dynamics of the process to be manifested everywhere, and in diversity. FSMET in the post event phase .

3 / Self-organized activity proposed in the FSMET 2020 event by one or more organizations that form their “preparatory group”. (This is a form that has been used in all social forum processes-events)

An activity is a time of 2 to 3 hours for dialogues of exchanges of visions or with articulatory perspectives with other organizations with a title a focus, a size a form and a methodology defined by its preparatory group.

The announcement of an activity is done through an online form available on the FSMET website from January 2020 (see here )

In FSMET, a “criterion” that can be disseminated is that self-organized activities are focused on the articulation of visions and promotion, articulations or planning of initiatives, and that they are not mere self-references , that is, showcases of the actions of isolated organizations.

4 / Interlocution spaces in the online forum   http://openfsm.net/projects/pfsm20/pfsm20-encuentros-en-espacios-intercom )

A “confluence facilitator group” can request a “confluence type” online space on the FSMET website, in which to maintain continuity of discussions between stakeholders. In this space there can be a system of proposals and degree of support to these that in the end are support from the organizations participating in the confluence; which may be expressed as activity preparation groups and indicative promoter groups

An “activity preparation group ” is formed between organizations that co-announce an activity file (point 2) and can request on the FSMET website an online space, “activity preparation type”, where to invite other participants to come and exchange information about of the future activity in the event and adjust its articulations with others and with initiatives. You can even decide to merge activities.

An “initiative promoter group” is formed between organizations that co-promote an initiative sheet (point 3) and can request on the FSMET website, an online space, “initiative promotion type”, where to invite other participants to come exchange about the initiative (present it, evaluate it, plan it, incorporate new member organizations). Also there, discussions can be organized to articulate the initiative with others. This same group can prepare activities in the event related to their initiative, or propose interventions in other activities, and be proactive in the Inter-Initiatives space (see part 5)

5 / Possibilities of Forms and common spaces-moments in the FSMET event

A / There may be during the FSMET event a space for activities “born in the event” to host articulation activities, whose idea was born in the same heat and dynamics of the event.

B / There may be a permanent “inter-initiatives” space for inter-relationship of FSMET 2020 initiatives where the fact sheets of all the initiatives placed in the process by their participants are physically seen and one can talk face to face with representatives of their promoter groups (see here )

C / At the end of the FSMET event, an “agora of FSMET 2020 futures” can be organized , it is a horizontal and very participatory form that is in line with articles 6 and 7 of the FSM letter of principles governing the FSMET process https: / /transformadora.org/en/sobre/principios

It is a common moment-space, where all the initiatives confirmed in the “inter-initiatives” space are present , in the updated form and size resulting from the interactions before and during the FSMET event, and where FSMET participants can come to relate to the respective promoter groups of these initiatives, in several ways: express interest, express support, express commitment in actions, express desire to integrate the promoter group etc.

This can be followed online after the FSMET event, circulating relationship forms to initiatives to include expressions of interest, support, and commitments from participants in the process that could not come to the FSMET event (see here )

D / With the action dates of the initiatives an FSMET calendar of medium-term futures (two years) can be assembled that brings together all the action dates of all initiatives clearly mentioning their respective promoter groups
This does not mean that all participants support all initiatives, but that all FSMET participants agree that their respective initiatives appear in the same FSMET 2020 calendar, which projects them with concrete tasks and actions in the post-forum period futures.
The FSMET 2020 calendar is a collective content that can be widely communicated , and with filters by theme for challenges, by needs by type of public actions by numbers of co-promoter entities etc. (see here )

Agora and Calendar are manifestations of "unity in diversity", are "communicable", lend themselves to media use, and are consistent with articles 6 and 7 of the charter of principles of the world social forum

Note1 this “ initial part of the text how to participate  https://transformadora.org/index.php/es/participa is NOT yet on the webfsmet page    https://transformadora.org/en/search/node?keys=WHERE%20DID%20IT%20START%3F

@ 26 to confirm if it hangs

Note 2 it is not clear the phrase would be good to reformulate and articulate this with the programming of self-organized activities see lexicon "program" here and "spaces in the event here and confluences here

The FSMET is organized around 3 main converge spaces , where participants in the Forum process can get to know each other, dialogue, share ideas and proposals, aggregate and form consensus around common issues.

The 3 convergence spaces are as described below: In order to take part in the convergence spaces and participate in the co-construction of the Forum itself (or “Forum process”), here is what you can do:

It is important to clarify that "The 3 convergence spaces" presented in the document have no structural existence . And therefore it is difficult to say that the FSMET is organized around these 3 spaces

This 3 spaces are actually “conceptual sets” of convergence spaces , each of which manifests itself makes visible at the initiative of its participants in the process in the form of an online forum space and in the event under a session in Barcelona taken the form of an activity (see line 4 here )

Perhaps there is a will to gather in three different physical spaces? the activities through which these 3 types of confluences are present at the event

Note 3 the phrase “how do you do what is indicated?” Is not clear and it would be good to rephrase it

These spaces are not intended to be all separate from each other, but have different dynamics and levels of networking. Transversal interaction is encouraged and will be part of the program of the event in Barcelona, so participants can be part of different spaces at the same time .

The transversal interaction between problems, themes, challenges, needs scales, seems to be done through self-organized activities proposed by entities and not by confluences (which are not entities) see the case guide here line 4

Note 4 - it is worth commenting on the conceptual peculiarities in the use of the FSMET vocabulary in this diagram and text below

LOCALS is a set of spaces "confluences" TERRITORY, where ET actors meet in the same territory. These spaces have no consolidated movement characteristics and do not have an established representation. They may have facilitating entities or groups, nothing more

The fact of using the word "confluence", to name what is in fact a confluence space, as if it were a constituted organization creates an fsmet vocabulary with a conceptual particularity, of which one must be aware

LOCAL CONFLUENCES see lexico here

MOVEMENTS are 4 confluence spaces ACTORS / MOVEMENTS, where actors meet that are related to the 4 types of ET- (see the characterization of the ET). These spaces do not have consolidated movement characteristics and do not have an established representation. Maybe they can have facilitating organizations, nothing more -
Calling “MOVEMENT” to something that is in fact a “confluence space” creates a fsmet vocabulary with conceptual particularity, of which one must be aware

MOVEMENT CONFLUENCES see lexicon here

THEME is a set of confluence spaces ACTIONS, where they meet that meet ET actors that are the same type of action theme There are 2 spaces to date one on public policies and others on education. These 2 spaces have no consolidated movement characteristics and do not have an established representation. Maybe they can get to have organizations or collective facilitators, nothing more -
Calling “THEME” or even “ACTION” to something that is in fact a space creates an fsmet vocabulary with conceptual particularity, of which one must be aware

CONFLUENCES ACTIONS see lexicon here

WHAT IS THE WORLD SOCIAL FORUM (WSF)?   3

... AND THE WSF OF TRANSFORMATIVE ECONOMIES?   3

WHERE DID IT START?   3

WHICH IS THE GOAL?

WHAT IS THE WORLD SOCIAL FORUM (WSF)?

The World Social Forum is “an open meeting place for reflective thinking, democratic debate of ideas, formulation of proposals, free exchange of experiences and forging effective action on the part of organizations and movements of civil society that are (...) committed to building a global society directed towards fruitful relationships among people and between humankind and the planet ”, as stated by its   Charter of Principles

It is an exceptional social and political process that was born in January 2001 in Porto Alegre (Brazil) and has spread worldwide in many different forms. It is a process of dialogic intercommunication between people and civil society organizations that work to overcome the multiple planetary crises and their causes and towards "another world" that already exists.

... AND THE WSF OF TRANSFORMATIVE ECONOMIES?

The World Social Forum of Transformative Economies is the first thematic World Social Forum focused on all those practices and initiatives that are changing the dominant economic and financial system . It is a process of convergences and encounters of different local, trans-local and international movements which we call “transformative economies.” The Forum promotes participation and commitment from those initiatives and practices around the world that seek to put life at the center and give alternatives to the currently predominant neoliberal economic system.

Transformative economies is a plural framework for socio-economic transformation that take this same direction.  We can say that two broad axes form the cornerstone of a shared narrative: the sustainability of life (in terms of nature, our bodies and our communities) and the equal distribution of power (the democratic and non-profit-seeking organization of the different ways in which systems of production are organized), breaking with the structures and the culture of power established under the current economic order "( full article ). ( See Transformative Economy lexicon here )

There are many different networks and movements, interconnected with each other and with other schools of thought, which are the heart of a virtuous circle of the transformative economies. Examples of these are the social solidarity economy and finance, the commons (natural, urban, knowledge and digital), the feminist economies, the agroecology and food sovereignty, as many others linked to just transitions, climate justice, degrowth, indigenous and migrant communities , nonviolent and peace building, liberation economies and many more.

Read here for more information: [link to:   https://transformadora.org/en/transformative-economies ] ( See Transformers Economy lexicon here )

WHERE DID IT START?

The idea of making a thematic forum of transformative economies emerged in August 2016 during the WSF in Montreal , and was presented in the 2018 WSF in Salvador de Bahia (Brazil) by initiative of the Intercontinental Network for Social Solidarity economy (RIPESS) and its Spanish members ( REAS , XES ). After an international preparatory meeting in April 2019, in July of the same year the Coordination Committee was created, composed of 23 international organizations and networks and the convergence of Barcelona, that seek to work according to each region's needs, demands and contexts.

The decision to undertake this process in the city of Barcelona is not coincidental: Catalonia, whose capital is Barcelona, is a worldwide reference of cooperativism and the solidarity economy, with a history defined by successful social struggles. Once more, the country will stand out on the world scene for its social commitment and its desire to build a better world.

We wish to guarantee the diversity of the participants in this process of the WSFTE . The main event   will take place between June 25th until 28th 2020 in Barcelona (Spain).

WHICH IS THE GOAL?

The objective of the FSMET is to bring together representatives of diverse constituencies across the world who are practicing and struggling for systemic alternatives to the neoliberal economy :   social movements, practices and community initiatives that put life, people and the environment at the center of the economy; that promote systemic change and a transition towards resilient and collaborative societies.

The Forum aims to help the mutual exchange and strengthening of alliances and common strategies among the participants as well as building together an inclusive global agenda of transformative actions and policies to change the economy.

The WSFTE seeks to ensure public visibility and recognition of transformative economy projects among existing practices by working on bottom-up processes that connect trans-locally and converge on common issues, supporting the articulation of a plural international movement.

HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE?

The FSMET is organized around 3 main converge spaces , where participants in the Forum process can get to know each other, dialogue, share ideas and proposals, aggregate and form consensus around common issues. These spaces are not intended to be all separate from each other, but have different dynamics and levels of networking. Transversal interaction is encouraged and will be part of the program of the event in Barcelona, so participants can be part of different spaces at the same time .

The 3 convergence spaces are as described below: In order to take part in the convergence spaces and participate in the co-construction of the Forum itself (or “Forum process”), here is what you can do: ( here starts the text in    https://transformadora.org/index.php/es/participa

ACTION - DATE ACTION IN AN INITIATIVE promoted by a group of entities and brought to the FSMET process

See the action date item

ACTION - confluence of entities acting transversely in ET

At the moment there are 2 actions: “public policies” and “education” - particularity of the notion of action in fsmet vocabulary . It is not the same as action-date on initiative see D9 here

ACTIVITY in FSMET event

A moment of dialogue and intercommunication at the FSMET event, self-organized by a coalition of participating entities with duration in shifts (about 2 hours). These entities and co-responsible persons mandated to specify this responsibility. define the topical content - meta- object of dialogue - and methodology / dialogue format defined by its group of co-responsible / responsible entities

It is possible to distinguish dialogue activities between entities 1 / on general topics or 2 / on certain initiatives , 3 / activities that are physical sessions (moments of meetings) in Barcelona on the occasion of the FSMET event of representatives of entities present in Barcelona participating in a space of existing Confluence . More information here

The event program is composed of self-organized ACTIVITIES

FORM UPDATE

It is the possibility for a person registered in civicrm to be able to enter to edit data in certain forms after they have been filled out for the first time.
The update is reflected in the civicrm directories , and reflects the maturing and articulating dynamics in the fsm process such as: New entities that promote initiatives co-responsible for activities, new optional fields filled in, action dates for initiatives better described and planned, etc.

Registered participants in civicrm can update their profile of participants in civicrm

Participants registered in decidim can update their participant profile in decidim

Participants registered in civicrm and who are a technical representative of an entity can update the profile of this entity in civicrm

Participants registered in civicrm and who are declared co-representative of an entity may (perhaps) update the profile of this entity in civicrm

Participants registered in civicrm and who are technically responsible for an initiative or activity can update their profile in civicrm

Participants registered in civicrm and who are co-responsible declared of an initiative or activity can (perhaps) update their profile in civicrm

STRATEGIC AGENDA EETT 2020-202?

Specifying such an agenda is a goal of the drivers of fsmet.

See the document https://transformadora.org/es/llamado-internacional

The objective is (........) to move towards an ongoing global transition agenda, which is based on various transformative economy strategies and maps common actions, as well as common scenarios for action and implementation. practice of action measures .

At the same time it is problematic to do it in the name of the fsmet process which would not be compatible with the letter of principle s. The self-organized initiative participation form offers a relevant possibility to make the agenda: see suggestion here

https://transformadora.org/es/2019-encuentro-de-redes-internacionales

Common Pact / Agenda The need to create a common agenda from diversity is raised. For this, it will seek to incorporate the different agendas of movements and networks and, in this way, make visible that there are other agendas outside the capitalist institutions. It must be a practical agenda that incorporates the work of other campaigns that are being carried out. There is also talk of building a future calendar with events that have links between them, and are not independent events but a common process.

FSMET FUTURE AGORA

It is a common moment form where participants focus their interactions on initiatives , updated after all discussions in the space between initiatives and activities . Its horizontal and participatory form is adapted to be the final moment of the FSMET event in coherence with a letter of principles (articles 6 and 7)

See D5 here

Note an Agora has been made in the Panamazon forum http://openfsm.net/projects/cif/cif-galeria-de-papelotes-iniciativas-en-fospa-tarapoto and http://openfsm.net/projects/cif/ cif-photo-gallery-agora-de-initiatives-in-fospa-tarapoto and video and in the forum of salvador http://openfsm.net/projects/sobre-agora-dos-futuros-fsm2018/agorafsm18-article -de-presentation-March-2019 -

OPENING OF AN ONLINE PARTICIPATION ACTIVITY

It is the fact that the co- responsible entities of an activity in Barcelona organize themselves to propose forms of remote participation, via live video teleconference chat - which allows online participants to be included in the dialogues of this activity. This is announced by field 13 of the activity form see D3 ( here )

SUPPORT for an initiative

One way to reinforce an initiative presented or articulated in FSMET is to make a statement / pronouncement with a list of entities that support them, first in person in the framework of activities or the agora s, then through an online support form circulated by the group of entities promoting the initiative (see field 15 of the initiative form here )

ORGANIZED SELF

It means that it is organized autonomously among a certain group of participating entities

In the FSMET process all initiatives are self-organized, and in the FSMET event all activities are self-organized.

SELF-REFERENCE

The fsmet tries to avoid self-reference (activities that only have an organization or its actions) and look for articulating dialogues

It is clarified in the text "brief indications" for activities here
The same for the initiatives: they are shown to be discussed and reinforced with support , with new members in the promoter group and articulated with others

Having directories ( here ) that work well will be a great help to be able to contact actors that we don't know and use the months until the event to detect them and start discussions with them through an online forum

FSMET FUTURE CALENDAR

It is the compilation of the action dates of the various initiatives , It is a presentation of the initiatives directory, which gives a line for each action date

It is updated in the inter-initiative space , online visible directory , and finalized in the physical space between initiatives during the FSMET event. See D5 forms of participation here

Note:   Example of Montreal calendar https://fsm2016.org/es/actions/ Salvador Calendar http://openfsm.net/projects/sobre-agora-dos-futuros-fsm2018/agorafsm18-calendario

Migration forum calendar: http://openfsm.net/projects/pfsmm/pfsmm18-lista-calendario

Calendar: The need arises to create a common agenda from diversity. For this, it will seek to incorporate the different agendas of movements and networks and, in this way, make visible that there are other agendas outside the capitalist institutions. It must be a practical agenda that incorporates the work of other campaigns that are being carried out. There is also talk of building a future calendar with events that have links between them, and are not independent events but a common process

LETTER OF PRINCIPLES FSM It is the reference document for the form and content of a social forum process see the letter here   https://transformadora.org/en/ on / principles . It has 14 articles - which specify that it is and is not the forum (a space and not an organization), what are its functions to host meetings (it has to do with notion of activity ) (article 1), what are the generic goals and values of the participants and entities (article 1 4 8 10 12) - what are the basic principles (nobody can speak on behalf of this space article 6 horizontality ) and the facilitators undertake to disseminate the explicit decisions of groups of participants article 7 ( it has to do with the notion of initiative )

CATEGORIZATION of organizations initiatives activities

Categorization by theme ET 4 “ ET movements ” + 2 “ ET actions

Categorization by event program moment (for activities) see here 1 / moments of exposure and analysis, 2 / inter and intra-movement dialogue, 3 / construction / action

Challenge categorization (formulated in April in Barcelona) for initiatives and activities entities) 1-Forum governance

2-Transforming and liberating education

3-Visibility and own story

4-Local work

5-Relationship of the state with the movements

6-Governance and self-organization

7 knowledge building

8-New technologies

9- Life in the center

10 - Own strategy

Categorization by needs (mentioned in April)

Example (feed-heal-dress-have-home-mobilize-make-fun-learn-work-participate in collective life ( @ 30 to do)

Categorization by Keywords?   @ 30B clarify

These categorizations are proposed in the form of a list to choose in the forms of entities, activities, initiatives

CATEGORIZATION of actions : in the FSMET 2020 calendar it may be interesting to categorize the proposed actions dates to FSMET participants: “reflation and manifestation”, which are the forms with less interlocution with those who do not participate, “involvement”, which are particularly relevant for transformative projects, "argumentacion" and "exposition", which are more for struggles and campaigns. @ 9evaluar

CIVICRM-FSMET (platform)

It is a free software of relation to participants of civil society processes (hence the root "civi"). It is inspired by customer relationship software / Customer Relationship Management (hence the suffix “crm”)
It complements the other platforms used in FSMET such as Decidim / forum.transformadora.org and the fsmet transformer web .org. It is supposed to offer participants visibility through directories    ability to contact other participants, and relationship with online forum

COALITION OF ENTITIES to announce initiatives or propose activity

There is a group of entities that may have met in a confluence space , maybe not, and decide to cooperate to prepare an activity or promote an initiative

GET RECORDS

The fact of consulting, before registering the entity, between persons co-representative of an entity participating in FSMET. This may mean organizing a collective repressive user.

The fact of consulting, before announcing initiative or activity among people co-responsible persons mandated by a group of entities that co-promotes a description of initiative or co-proposes an activity or co-prepares it once selected (see questions answers here )

CONFLUENCE (space of)

It is a meeting space where participating entities come together , active in transformative economies , which are in the same territory , the same branch / movement of ET or the same form of advocacy action

CRITERIA for selecting activities for the FSMET event program

Own criteria for each activity - that the proposal be made on behalf of at least 2 participating entities see field 7 in the activity form here   to prevent activities from being self - referential

General criteria:

balance between activities focused on articulation of visions and others focused on articulation of actions / initiatives - at least half (@ 31 evaluate)   of activities that are the subject of discussion (in field 5 of the activity form here   ) certain initiatives described and explain “for what and how” we will discuss these

as well as ensuring the presence of all movements and actions in an equitable manner

Balance between inter-local inter-movement articulating activities and activities that are confluence sessions in Barcelona:   The latter are less a maximum of a quarter of the activities. @ 31evaluate clarify

Horizontality Criteria

a maximum number of two activities or two initiatives that the same organization can propose as technical manager

Diversity criteria will be assessed to include several organizations from various continents + to diversity and gender, ethnicity, etc,

https://transformadora.org/es/2019-encuentro-de-redes-internacionales

One of the main criteria mentioned is that of diversity and gender balance, ethnicity, etc., as well as ensuring the presence of all movements and actions in an equitable manner. The balance also arises in terms of methodology: combining panels of experts, but also workshops, presentations ... And it also specifies a balance between pre-organized events, self-managed events and those that arise at the time. @ 31B clarify

Chronological criteria In this context there will be more chance to be accepted the proposal of those who propose it earlier when they open registration window see   here

Logistic criteria that there is space and time available in Barcelona to include this activity - this may lead in certain cases the content and logistics commissions to ask some selected activities in term content to consider merging between them

see   here

General content criteria : consistency with generic values and goals of FSMET participants as they are in the letter of principles

CRITERIA for initiatives presented at FSMET

The description of an initiative must have at least one action date see also here . An entity cannot be technically responsible for more than two initiatives.   General content criteria : consistency with generic values and goals of FSMET participants as they are in the letter of principles

DECIDIM-FSMET (platform) forum.transformadora.org

It is a free software developed in Catalonia / Barcelona to support citizen participatory processes with local governments. It allows to display online forum spaces . See the diagram of stages of participation sequence of platform use; A challenge is to make the navigation between civicrm-fsmet and decidim-fsmet smooth

DECLARATION on the occasion of the FSMET event

A public document signed by an explicit list of participating entities. It is an elementary form of public action-date that can be part of an initiative. It can serve to express support for an initiative. If it is an isolated pronouncement it can be considered an initiative in itself

TRANSFORMING ECONOMIES

Definitions of transformative economies

1 / A definition of these economies is in this text

https://transformadora.org/es/economias-transformadoras
see excerpt:

That is why we talk about transformative economies, as an agglutinating concept of those proposals of socio-economic transformation that point to the same horizon. There are four movements of movements that, hybridizing with each other and with other proposals, are the heart of the virtuous circle of transformative economies.

• The social and solidarity economy , with fair trade and ethical finance, built on the foundations of cooperativism and the construction of social markets, hybridizing the traditional social economy with new practices of self-organization and democratization of the economy in all links of the cycle economic, providing goods and services for the satisfaction of needs instead of profit.

• The economy based on commons or commons , with its three major subfamilies: urban commons, natural commons and digital commons. Common, as a third way in the way of managing resources and producing value, based on community management, breaking the state-market duality as the only visible and legitimate spaces for the production, management and allocation of resources of the economic system.

Feminist economies , to displace markets and capital as the center of socio-economic organization and place life and all the processes that make it possible in a sustained way, with special importance of the care economy and the key role of women and of feminized values in this process.

Agroecology and the movement for food sovereignty , with its key role in the rethinking of the agrifood model as a basic piece for the maintenance of life, which is also the rethinking of our relationship with the Earth and natural cycles, and that, Therefore, it connects its struggle with all the struggles for the defense of the land, led by social ecology and movements such as the decrease.

And from these different perspectives on the economy and on life, we draw a joint vision, a shared horizon around two great statements:

2 / another definition of transformative economies is in this text   https://transformadora.org/es/llamado-internacional

It is the social and solidarity economy groups, the food sovereignty and agroecology networks, the forms of participatory and collaborative economy, the different realities of community economies and feminist economies, the movements that work from a gender and cooperative approach, in issues such as fair trade, experiences of social mutualism, cooperatives, ethical finance, social entrepreneurship of the circular economy, the economies of the common, those of migrants, indigenous populations, climate justice, but also the public policies, education and research oriented towards transition and towards a new, more equitable model.

PARTICIPATING ENTITIES

They are collective group organizations, networks that are considered participants in the FSMET and FSM process such as the words "participants" and "process" are described in the letter of principles and have made the registration

FSMET TECHNICAL TEAM

They are salaried people who support the commissions and coordination committee, and are part of the FSMET facilitation . At the moment it is planned until the date of the event in June, It may be relevant to maintain a technical team for the post event

SPACES at the FSMET event

They are physical spaces that are available to host the different activities . activities of dialogues between entities, 1 / on general topics or 2 / on certain initiatives information here 3 / activities that are sessions in Barcelona on the occasion of the FSMET event of existing confluence spaces

There may be spaces with particular approaches hosting activities with thematic characteristics or in particular ways and (see activity information and case guide line 4 here .

It remains to clarify

A / if there is specialization of physical spaces in Barcelona or not see here   (notes 1 to 4)

B / what are the balance criteria between various types of activity

SPACES in the online forum

They are open online spaces decided by co-facilitators of confluences , jointly responsible for activity, jointly responsible for initiatives (which are visible in the directories ) see online forum see “how to participate” part 3 here

SPACE INTER INITIATIVES online and at the event

It is a collective / communal form of participation proposed by the fsmet facilitation where there is direct dialogue between promoters of initiatives and with other participants.

It is in the first place an online space (with a directory of initiatives in civicrm-fsmet, and perhaps a specific online space in decidim-fsmet managed by content commission,)

Then it is a permanent physical space during the event, where promoters of initiatives and other participants can have informal interactions about initiatives .

There in this space the fsmet 2020 calendar of action dates is finalized and the agora of futures is prepared -FSMET

Explanation

It is the fact that, proposals of activities and announcements of initiatives , (including as initiatives also the elementary form of “pronouncements”), are made in the name of an explicit list of signatory entities see horizontality -

FSMET FACILITATION

These are all available energies to support the FSMET process: Technical team   - commissions - coordinating committee - do not confuse the general facilitation of the forum process and the “facilitation techniques” of groups and activities (as they were used in April in Barcelona) see p ost event

DATE OF ACTION

A date and a description of nonviolent public action. At least 1? and maximum 3 action-date per initiative. They serve to feed the FSMET futures calendar
See the action item

FSMET PROGRAMMING FLEXIBILITY

The use with creativity and relevance of the activity forms , the visibility offered by the directories , and the interactions between proponents of activities with the commission contained, allows to have a lot of flexibility in the topics, forms, methodologies of the activities.

The diversity of initiatives presented by another party allows a variety of concrete and relevant objects for articulating discussions in activities.

Then the physical location of a certain activity is decided between several available physical spaces

The directory of selected activities is transformed shortly before the event into a program with a room one day a shift for each selected activity

ON LINE FORUM

The online forum is a communications environment that is structurally supported in decidim forum.transformadora.org and is completed with social networks and other tools - See the frequently asked questions in decidim About the online forum

INITIATIVE SUPPORT FORMS (SELF ORGANIZED)

They are self-organized forms circulated by the promoter groups of initiatives to seek support and commitments for participation in action dates between FSMET participants and participating entities before during and after the FSMET event (see field 15 in the initiative form here )

FORUM.TRANSFORMADORA.ORG (platform) DECIDIM FSMET ONLINE FORUM FSMET

It is a version of decidim installed for FSMET participants to specify the online forum. A challenge is to make the navigation between civicrm-fsmet and decidim-fsmet smooth

GROUP OF PARTICIPATING ENTITIES that prepares an activity or promotes an initiative

It is an ad hoc group of entities (also called coalition - already registered in civicrm that is described as a list of links in field 4 of the initiative form here and field 3 of the activity form here . A way for an entity to reinforce an activity or initiative is to ask for inclusion in your preparatory or promoter group

GUIDE FOR REGISTRATION OF INITIATIVE ORGANIZATIONS CIVICRM ACTIVITIES

This guide is presented as a dashboard that indicates 1 to what type of form in civicrm a person who has registered has access, according to whether or not a technical representative or co-representative declared of an entity is considered and 2 3 4 to what type of form can he use according to 3 cases

ONLINE FORUM TOOLS

Decidim forum.transformadora.org is only the structural component of the online forum , and to have agile communications within the online forum spaces you need social networks , and more teleconferencing tools, collaborative pad etc @ 34 see the image that Jason circulates

HORIZONTALITY

The forum space is horizontal, there is no hierarchy of actors or topics etc. No one can speak on behalf of the forum article 6 of the WSF Charter of Principles , and everyone can speak on their own behalf. Therefore, it must be made explicit in the name of who are made pronouncement, decisions, actions within the framework of initiatives that are disseminated. in the forum (article 7 of the letter )

INITIATIVE brought / presented in FSMET process to be launched, reinforced, articulated

It is a form of participation in fsmet see here , which consists of describing / presenting in a form a campaign project campania existing or projected here , to be reinforced or / and articulated in the FSMET process and promote this description in the inter-initiative space first online, maybe in a space in the online gold , then the physical inter-initiative space in the event, and discuss articulating it with others through activities selected in the FSMET2020 program,

INTER-INITIATIVES (online space and in the event)

see inter-initiative space

FSMET MAPPING

An articulation of mapping projects proposes to carry out on the occasion of the FSMET process-event.

3 mappings: a mapping of entities, a mapping of confluences and a mapping of initiatives of transformative economies. The mapping implies having a geographical location of a confluence or initiative entity which implies some mapping conventions

To be included in the FSMET mapping:

an option opens in the entity form with several more fields to fill out ( @ 3B to be confirmed ) see here

An option opens in the confluence form with several more fields to fill out ( @ 36B to be confirmed ) see here

An option is opened in the initiative form with several more fields to fill out ( @ 11B to be confirmed ) see here

MEMBER of an online forum space

It is a specific notion of decidim, the admin of an online forum space can accept members. The specific meaning of what it means to be a member is defined in each case, it can be associated with the inclusion in social network groups .

FSMET 202 EVENT PROGRAMMING MOMENT

moments of 1 / exhibition and analysis, 2 / inter and intra-movement dialogue, 3 / construction / action see here - it is a categorization present in the activity form see field 11 here that will be used in the event programming

MOVEMENT in FSMET vocabulary (confluence space for each of the 4 ETs)

It is a confluence space between entities that are considered part of one of the 4 forms of transformative economies . It is not a movement in the usual sense of term. Ambiguity of the notion of movement in fsm vocabulary see here

MOVEMENT (participant purpose)

It is a variant of the participating entity . It is different from an FSMET movement

NETRATIVE EETT

Strengthen ET narratives It is a goal motivating the driving forces of FSMET

There are three platforms transformadora.org (for general information - not interactive) civicrmFSMET (for registration see here ) forum.transformadora.org ( decidim FSMET) (for online forum see here ).

Making the navigation between these 3 platforms smooth is a challenge (see the diagram here )

PREPARATOR / ORGANIZER RESPONSIBLE FOR ACTIVITY

It is said of an entity that is part of the group preparing the activity, and of the persons designated as co-responsible in field 4 of the activity form here to take care of the activity in the FSMET process and event

PRE REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS at civicrm-fsme t of organizations, initiatives, activities

These are the preliminary steps necessary for a registry by feeding the FSMET directories in the best possible way.

Organizations Ideally, the co-responsible persons of an entity / organization should register with civicrm-fsmet before the technical representative of the entity , so that they can then choose them in the directory of persons as declared co- responsible . (field 15 of the entity form here )

If this is not the case, there will be a part of declaration of persons that will be by text and not by selection in civicrm directory list, and the navigation is partial, and will be added in a subsequent update of the form

Initiatives and activities Ideally the co-responsible entities and the people co-responsible for an initiative or an activity must register before a representative (technical or declared ) of one of these entities will register this initiative or activity.

If this is not the case, there will be a part of the declaration of entities and persons that will be by text and not by selection in the civicrm directory list, and the navigation there will be partial and will be added in a subsequent update of the form

The situation is improving by updating the forms as registration dynamics progress among the participants in FSMET

FSMET EVENT PROGRAM and pre-program

See brief directions here . The program is made in the commission contents based on the proposals of activities selected according to criteria . Then a location / room, day and a shift (time period) is attributed to each activity within an appropriate physical space . The programming takes into account the 3 moments described in the program structure document    Here
The pre-program is the visible list in civicrm-fsmet of the proposed and selected activities before your room and day and turn are logistically confirmed . It is confused with the directory of activities

https://transformadora.org/es/2019-encuentro-de-redes-internacionales

Construction of the program Typology of activities, spaces and itineraries

PROPOSAL in online forum space (decidim)

The open spaces in the online forum by people linked groups of “host” actors: representatives ( technical or declared ) of entities present at a confluence , co-responsible ( technical or declared ) to promote an initiative or prepare an activity , allow participants , “Members” as non-members of the host group, to encourage written debates, and to make written “proposals”, within a framework defined by these host actors of the online forum space considered

Example: Proposals can be about the content of the ET agenda in the online forum space for the promotion of the “towards ET strategy agenda” example here

(@ 35 to complete)

PROMOTER PROMOTER RESPONSIBLE for initiative (entity)

REGISTRY

It is the fact of filling out a form in civicrm fsmet

REPCOL COLLECTIVE REPRESENTATIVE

It is a formula that consists of creating a shared email account between several people who are arranged so that someone registers it as a collective representative user and describes the organization while becoming its technical representative . This allows to ensure a degree of collectivity whatever the technical options considered by the civicrm team in representation see D1B here

REPRESENTATIVE (TECHNICAL) of participating entity (person)

is the person filling out the form / entity / organization descriptive sheet - see D1C here

(CO) REPRESENTATIVE (DECLARED) of participating entity

Is a representative person declared by field 15 of the organization form see D1C here    (@ 2 this remains to be confirmed in the civicrm-FSMET team

SELECTED (activity)

It is said of an activity proposal that meets defined content criteria and is only pending confirmation of logistics capacity in Barcelona. If this capacity is not confirmed, there will be an order to merge between several selected activities from the FSMET facilitation

SESSION OF A CONFLUENCE OR MOVEMENT OR ACTION SPACE

It is a face-to-face meeting of entities that are present in this confluence space , either in their own geographical area, or in Barcelona on the occasion of the FSMET 2020 event; To reserve a moment and space for a session in Barcelona, it is necessary that a person representing ( technical - or declared ) of an entity present in a confluence space declares an activity see here and see the guide here

D12-1B / FORM ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION NETWORK ENTITY

It is understood (as indicated by Jason at the meeting on December 19) that the first person who does not find the name of their organization on the list, click on “New” and create the descriptive file of this organization, and BY DEFAULT comes to to be the “technical representative” of this organization, that is, the one that can edit and update this file that you have created

Then other people who want to interact with this organization do not have how to correct the file that this first person edited

As Jason said at the December 19 meeting, the civicrm-FSMET group can choose option OR NOT that each person who is related to this organization (in field 11 of the personal record here ) can announce an activity or initiative on behalf of this organization

It is also possible to propose the option that this person is the first editor / technical manager of the file that gives an email list of “co- declared representatives ” (see field 15 on the form   here   ) -

These people can thus co-edit / update the entity's record (without deleting the technical representative link of the first person who created the entity's record) and can announce activities and initiatives on behalf of this organization

They will also give name and email to co-responsible entities and people who can co-edit the activity or initiative sheet - according to an identical mechanism, see field 3 and 4 of the activity sheet ( here ) and 4 and 5 of the initiative sheet ( here ) ( @ 7 to be confirmed)

See the questions answers ( here ) that propose some options to clarify with the civicrm-mapping group

You can be inspired by this to show the coalitions of promoter organizations in the announcement of ane initiatives or coalitions of promoter organizations in the announcement of activity annex 3B (see

How is it done?

You enter civicrm with your account and personal password. To announce an activity or initiative - select one of the organizations of which, according to civicrm FSMET , you are a technical or declared representative - and this organization will appear technically as the “technical leader” of a group of organizations that must be described elsewhere in the form (in field 3 and 4 of the activity sheet ( here ) and 4 and 5 of the initiative sheet ( here )

To be included in the FSMET mapping of entities : an option is opened in the entity form with several more fields to fill (see field 21 these fields at the end of the next board @ 3B to be confirmed )

This entity / organization description form is the one defined in the civicrm-FSMET / mapping commission group, except fields 12 to 15 that are suggestions for aggregations (which come from suggestions made in discussion D13 )

General comment about “Mapping group initiative form” see table below

No wonder: this M form is “mapping oriented” - direction location as a point -no notion of scale of initiative and area where the initiative is active (see field

1 / there seem to be a fuzzy notion of what an initiative is - it seems very close in many casis to an organization see - M10 M11 M14

2 / and it is not “wsfte process oriented”, that is there is no questions about “for what and how this initiative will be promoted on occasion of WSFTE (see questions C

3 / Also notion of “ action date ” is absent, whereas it is paramount in the methodology of initiatives, in order to produce a WSFTE2020 calendar

D12 - 2BM mapping optional fields

ENGLISH INITIATIVE MAPPING FORM   in fact this mapping form can be both for entities - confluences - initiatives

Option proposed -

add the relevant (see case by case in right column) ME1 to ME20 mapping fields of this form here at the end of entity description fields D12-1B field 21   here -

add the relevant (see case by case in right column) MC1 to MC20 mapping fields of this form here at the end of the confluence description fields D12-1C field XX    here -

add the relevant (see case by case in right column) MI1 to MI20 mapping fields of this form here at the end of the initiative description fields D12 -2 field 26 - here

So these three types of registration process produce   three separate maps that can be interlinked - and are also using the links between the directories explicited here

Entity map - shows links to initiative map (if an entity is part of the promoting group of an initiative) - can also shows links to other entities (that are in a same initiative promoting group field 4 initiative form (automatic)) or that they are part of (

Entity map - so far does no show links to confluence map - the only link is between person and confluences so far (see D12-A field 10-12 here

Confluence map - not linked to other maps so far

Initiative map - shows links to entity map (if an entity is part of the promoting group of an initiative)

Also shows links to other initiatives (field 25 D12-2 here )

D12 - 4 / FORM to register in decidim (this is for the online forum)

Relate to indications in point 3 here

Proposal to add a field in the “user decidim form” that asks for the username of the person in civicrm (declaratory option, with help to find a civicrm user who has the same email address as the one with which he is registering, or the person decided to stop

PROPOSAL: that the forum letter + Concept of transformative economies + be aligned with the FSMET vision and principles    here that there will be an order of priority (1st that is best registered) included   here + that there are at least two organizations that propose the activity included   here + it will be valued that they include several organizations from several continents + to diversity and gender balance, ethnicity, etc., as well as ensuring the presence of all movements and actions in an equitable manner. included   here

I share a document sent by my partner Nina de BArcelona about the document where the criteria and program spaces were agreed at the July international networking meeting that would be very important to consider for the next meeting:

https://transformadora.org/es/2019-encuentro-de-redes-internacionales

The document is mentioned in the criteria - program - entries of the lexicon here

JORDI

Link here

Hello, here my comments so that the group that has made the proposal values them and integrates in the document if they agree or give their opinion.

Regarding the first part of the agreement " separating into 2 different forms and spaces in the program, 1 for visibility initiatives, another for confluence activities":

1. The title of the document confuses me. I think it should be called a call for activities for the FSMET.    It is not just about activities but about the registration of individual entities that is a prerequisite and initiatives. Therefore, I propose the title  Invitation to register and participate in fsmet with initiatives and activities”    ( here )

2. The sections should collect the titles with the agreed denomination, that is to say

REGISTRATION OF INITIATIVES

The sections have 4 parts, so the title proposal

Form and information to ANNOUNCE in civicrm AN INITIATIVE BORN IN THE FSMET ( here ) and REGISTRATION OF CONFLUENCE ACTIVITIES.

The sections have 4 parts, so the title proposal

Form and information to PROPOSE in civicrm AN ACTIVITY IN THE FSMET EVENT   ( here )

Regarding " Integrating what the Transforming Economies are", the international mobilization document https://transformadora.org/es/llamado-internacional   It makes a more explicit and inclusive explanation . I, since it is a doc that already has the consensus, would pick it up: social and solidarity economy groups, food sovereignty and agroecology networks, participatory and collaborative economy forms, the different realities of community economies and feminist economies , the movements that work from a gender and cooperative approach, on issues such as fair trade, experiences of social mutualism, cooperatives, ethical finance, social entrepreneurship of the circular economy, economies of the common, those of migrants , of indigenous populations, of climate justice, but also public policies, education and research oriented towards transition and towards a new, more equitable model.

See the lexico here

Finally, the call must include what was agreed in the criteria document   (what is this document? that explicit that in the forum there will be three moments (exhibition and analysis, dialogue and construction / action) . So you have to make a reference to those three moments in the introduction explaining briefly and then the form You have to have a field for the proponent to say at which time he sees his activity .

( see field 11 categorizations of activity D12 / 3    ( here ) and the item moments here

It was difficult to agree that document so we cannot ignore it.

FLORA

Regarding the proposed document, I think we are all thinking about the best way to convene the largest number of organizations and groups that are mobilizing transformative economies from different regions and different experiences. Think about building a flexible, motivating and convoking proposal. In this sense, we propose the text with the idea that it is final, but since it can be improved or polished.

And, on the other hand, the forms are still pending, yet to be complemented with details, to see that it is as agile and possible.

Let's try to see the way where all our expectations and comments can be reflected, and at the same time we can move forward. We may need a quick call, where the greatest number of companions can be.

For my part, I am available to meet, although these days have not been easy here because the closing of the work year is only 30/12 and we have an important workload in the university with exams and closing of the school year. But from now on trying to find space, to continue and move forward!

I add to what said by Flora very precise details, in the spirit of continuing to advance.

ACTIVITY From the last meeting we recovered some criteria about the text:

  • seeks to reach a wide and diverse environment,
  • It must be simple and clear,

  • assume that it is an interaction between organizations (collective subjects) and not between individuals , see here

  • should motivate and stimulate avoiding emphasizing restrictions, an

  • leave maximum flexibility knowing that we are going to diverse processes , in their current trajectories and moments.

  • This phrase was added see text “brief indications” D3A ( here ) The activities are an interaction between organizations (collective subjects) and not between individuals. They emanate from diverse processes, in their current trajectories and moments, and their goals, topics, forms and methodology reflect this diversity

The importance of having coherent final versions that unified the style was also mentioned, avoiding the single aggregation of paragraphs

Along with this, there are two conditions * that we consider key:

  • the self-managed nature of activities this is present (see colored paragraphs) in the text “brief indications D3A” ( here ) All registered activities must be framed in the Charter of Principles of the World Social Forum (link to Charter) and will be self-managed .

Note This may also imply that all activities that are nothing more than sessions in Barcelona of various FSMET confluences, FSMET movements, FSMET actions (using a particular fsmet vocabulary) must also be requested through the activity form for at least 2 organizations that regularly attend bliss confluence

  • the process of collective construction of the program this is present (see colored paragraphs) in the text “brief indications D3A” ( here )

This reduces pre-definitions or the idea of previously formatting what organizations propose, assuming we would have examples with such scope and validity . @ 39 Can you explain? Are you talking about examples of activity form filled out as ( here )?

(* A third condition to be integrated is that of the three moments emphasized by Jordi). see field 11 categorizations of activity D12 / 3 ( here )

INITIATIVES

On the other hand, we understood that using the term 'initiatives' to refer to organizations in their wide range can be confusing. Here is a misunderstanding: the word “initiative” does not refer to organizations, but describes joint actions of various organizations see how to participate ( here ) triangular diagram ( here ) lexicon ( here ) - also the end of jason's text the questions / answers here

Also, that the confluences are part of the dynamics or the process. Therefore, and considering previously extensive experiences, we opted for 'registration of organizations' and 'registration of activities'. In the text there are more elements in this regard.

Part D2 has been added here to establish a record of initiatives with the same structure in 3 parts (brief indications - questions answers - sample form filled out

We believe that allusion to restrictions and other details may be stated on the forms. We advance to a preliminary scheme of them, which should still be worked for a complete and final version. A proposal for a full version of all forms is ( here ) see lexicon

We try to visualize at all times the objective, the usefulness of this task, and process all the inputs and agreements with that sense.

We will continue in the work of the forms to reach the final version . Expected comments on the detailed forms ( here ) We would like the principles of clarity, brevity, simplicity and flexibility to also be part of this process to achieve a good result.

Hello everyone, everyone

Thank you for all the work done - David, Flora, Magdalena, Pierre and all ... this end of the year period is certainly not the most appropriate to have the opportunity to involve all interested actors and share the effort to develop a proposal That is both simple and understandable and well structured.

For each of the 3 invitations to register, announce initiatives, and propose activity that are announced in the brief invitation doc D0 see here   There are 3 elements:

A / a “brief indications” text written mainly by magdalena and flora (and Pierre in case of initiatives) (example here in case of D1A registration)

B / a text “questions answers” which is another way of explaining (example here in case of D2B initiative) and

C / a specific example of a completed form (example here in case of D3C activity)

Then there are links to documents D4 (complement), D5 (program structure), D6   D7   D8   D9 (how to participate and FAQ decidim), D10 (directories), D11 (lexico)

LEXIC TERMINOLOGY

I did not participate in the work of this commission (I am already present in others), but I participated in the last meeting because I wanted to make sure there was no contradiction between the work done by other commissions such as:

-the document "How to participate", ( here )

-the "Call for international mobilization" ( https://transformadora.org/es/llamado-internacional )

-the registration of participants and organizations (see here , a part of the work of the mapping commission, etc.)

- the "Call for proposals for activities" and initiatives that you discussed. See here

It seems to me that, in effect, it is necessary to improve coordination between the different parties - there is a risk of duplication of work or the use of very different terminologies and references -

With this terminology concern here is the proposal of a lexicon here

, which can lead to confusion and frustration of those who have dedicated so much energy and time. action item movement item - see here   about particularities of the FSMET vocabulary

That is why I think it is important that everyone's contributions be considered with respect for the work done previously and the possibilities of putting together something in the deadlines and ways that allow those who then have to translate and implement technically to do it well .

This is a shared concern and what good we have until February to do it

There seems to be a lot of work ahead on the plate of the civicrm-fsmet group (which seems to be different from the mapping commission ), the forms and especially the directories and that there does not seem to be a collective work structure of the commission type registration and directories for this group

For my part, I would highlight the following points (I try to write concisely and I apologize from now on if there are many):

CONVERGENCE SPACES

- We want to have one   broad and plural participation , ( term included in text D0 here ) including the multiple forms of collective action and the practices of Transforming Economies.

- For this reason, the FSMET, as described in the document "How to participate", ( the initial part of the webfsmet must be posted see D9   here ) promotes   convergence spaces ,

These are more "meta spaces" and do not appear to be structural see Note 2 and 3   here

Sessions of confluence spaces must be proposed / reserved through the activity form: see brief instructions D3A here the case guide here line 4

Lack of clarity in the personal form on the description of confluences see D12 1C here

movement and territorial "transformative actions" (or cross-cutting themes / initiatives) .

see Note 4   here   about fsmet vocabulary peculiarities

They are not mutually exclusive, but are interconnected and serve to foster mutual knowledge, exchange and, if possible, common proposals.

It is relevant to differentiate  sessions ” in Barcelona from existing confluence spaces, requested by entities that are present in such a space, and joint activities requested on behalf of certain entities with specific goals (and which in this case are no longer confluence spaces) see criteria

ONLINE FORUM

- To give visibility to these spaces of convergence , in the process of co-construction of the Forum, a "virtual forum" or "online forum" ( forum.transformadora.org ) has been created, a common meeting point - which does not it replaces the existing dynamics and modes of communication , but it gives the opportunity to follow and participate in the Forum at a distance and make it visible to all. See the FAQ here   (it remains to fluidize between civircm and decidim )

- The same platform offers the possibility to activate participatory processes on the proposals , see here with times and methods that help verify support or add consensus . The idea is to open these spaces as a tool available to participants to present and process proposals that involve other participants @ 35   This aspect of "proposal" is about what? we need to clarify more! See the lexicon here .

The notion of proposal does not appear in the online forum FAQ here   - at the same time as the Call for Activities (here it is also complementary and not mandatory). The decidim platform was introduced in April and is part of a series of digital tools that are being implemented.   The online forum is not reduced to decidim. Information on these other tools is missing in the    FAQ online forum here This is what the Virtual Forum Commission is dealing with. We continue!

CIVICRM- FSMET REGISTER

- At the same time, based on the needs indicated by the FSMET technical team and the experiences of previous forums and similar events, a contact management system has been established that is the basis of the registration forms of the participants . Registration of individuals and organizations is envisaged here.   (where we refer here to collective, formal and informal, or network or institutional forms). And activities   here    and initiatives   here
There are several problems 1 / visibility (directories) 2 / contact 3 / manage two accounts and platforms decidim and civicrm see the directories part here

- Participants are people who are part of one or more organizations. Once registered, they are users who can propose activities and present initiatives (on behalf of their organizations).

It is necessary to clarify who will be recognized as a representative ( technical or declared ) of an organization c apaz to use the activity or initiative form see questions and answers here   and the case guide here . See field proposal 15 for the appointment of co-representatives in the organization form here

It is necessary to clarify what visibility and capacity of contacts civicrm offers for the participants    here

ACTIVITIES

- Here I would expect from this commission some minimum criteria that favor the fact that the proposals of activities involve more than one organization (so that it is really a proposal already shared) and that there is a maximum number of activities that an organization You can propose (while, of course, you can join or participate in as many as you want).   Remember these criteria in the lexicon here    in the questions and answers of the activity form here and in the form itself?

- It would give us until February 3 (since all the technical team is on vacation) to finalize the D3C activity proposal form and the D2C initiative description form , keeping it simple but with the necessary information so that it can then be consulted

- for this committee and for all those who will work in the program (logistics, production, creativity, virtual forum, etc.) and

- by the participants through dynamic directories! (As has always been done in all social forums, this progressive visibility of the participant with which activities and initiatives is crucial)

See the directory document here

See here the 22-field organization form

. See here the activity form of 21 fields with 8 optional at the beginning.

See here the initiative form of 26 fields with 13 optional at the beginning

- I agree with Jordi on what we can ask him to indicate in   which of the "three moments " of the program structure (which should be published and made known to all possible participants), wants to insert the activity (   see field 11: categorizations of activity D12 / 3    ( here ) however this notion at the moment is fuzzy see the doc here and the lexicon here

- I propose (I had already done it, but it was not very thoughtful ...) to ask   "What do you want to transform / change", "How" and "With whom" through the proposal (may be part of the question in the description) (   see field 6: goals of activity D12 / 3    ( here )

- At the end of the Activity Proposal Form, proponents may be invited to open a participation process in the Online Virtual Forum , see field 7: use of the online forum D12 / 3    ( here ) that can remain open even after the deadline for activity proposals as a reference space. a forum space in line with interaction about the activity stays until the event and then .

The same for a space in the online forum related to an initiative.

INITIATIVES

here

- Regarding the calls for "initiatives" proposed by Pierre, whose principle was agreed in the commission , thanks to the last meeting I think I have understood better and I see well the link with the work of the mapping commission , which has developed a form of (organizations and) initiatives (   where is this form initiative of the mapping commission @ 37? D12-2BM is here how it compares to the form proposed in D12 / 2    ( here ) that will be mapped by territory and thematically). See

Looking at the mapping commission, I found this

I don't get to understand what it is - easily very different from this
Now with some conversation with Kevin it is clearer and allows us to make a proposal here: D12-2BE

If the two things coincide , I think we would have closed the circle ...

Take into account that the mapping touches entities, confluences, and initiatives (and often uses initiative to actually talk about an entity

If a “self declaration in fsmet” principle is accepted - THIRD PARTIES ARE NOT REGISTERED / DESCRIBED - it is registered in its own name as an entity - confluence - activity and there are 3 mapping of confluence entity, initiatives

In this case the mapping is an OPTION of wanting to appear as a point (the problem of representing areas remains) on a geographical map

PROPOSAL

An entity is described (more or less in detail) - and the option contained in a mapping is taken or not - see D12-1B here

A confluence is described (more or less in detail) - and the option contained in a mapping is taken or not see D12-1C here

It describes (more or less in detail) an initiative (on behalf of 2 or more entities, unless it is a network see guide ) that intends to be present in the formal interactions in the process and event, FSMET

1 / through a proactive presence of its promoters in the inter-initiatives space

2 / as an object of explicit and preannounced discussion in some self-organized activities,

3 / present in the FSMET futures calendar through a public action date

And take or not the option to appear in a map see D12-2 field 26 here

  @ 40 evaluate

I hope so! I also hope that we are closing the circle See the diagram    here

Let's continue working on it and see how we can give visibility to both "actions" and "actors" , see the triangle diagram here trying to find a common lexical terminology here and clear and effective communication .

Important to take into account the notion of action date that allows to build an fsmet calendar, which gives visibility to the actions included in the initiatives

See fields 13 and 16 to 20 dates actions D12 / 2 in the initiative form ( here )

Sorry for the extension - I hope I have contributed a little more clarity and of course I am still available (although in a reduced way during these holidays of the end of the year).

My best wishes to all and happy holidays!

See the equivalent in fsm2016.org

1308 registered organizations groups - https://fsm2016.org/es/groupes/
