Subject: New Economy Organisers Network: Movement Builders
To: CRITICAL-LABOUR-STUDIES@jiscmail.ac.uk

Dear Colleagues,

First, many thanks to those CLS members who have supported the 'Ruskin 5' and our campaign to ensure that Ruskin College remains focused on its core mission to provide educational opportunities for working class adults, and to the labour movement.

Following my dismissal I became involved in a variety of work, this included becoming a member of the advisory committee for the Movement Builders initiative of the New Economy Organisers Network (NEON).

By way of background: "NEON’s Movement Builders programme is a 5 day intensive training course for people working towards big systemic change. Half theory, half practical tools, this five day course puts you in a room with 30 organisers across your region to think about the role of movements in leading change and learn from the world’s most effective groups, leaving you with analysis and tactics to apply to your own organising work".

The application process is now open for the first course and I'd be grateful if CLS members could forward this link to anyone keen to develop their skills in building movements, campaigns etc.

The link is: http://neweconomyorganisers.org/our-work/movement-builders/

Many thanks

Ian Manborde
