I send the Collective Focuspuller report on the Virtual FSM video and streaming. This is just a partial report and we no says nothing about the cost. I wish to have soon from the Finance Commission the report of the situation, and also if some organization spend some thingh on their own for the forum could be interesting analyze the cost. 

Also the general cost in terms of our worked and use of machine like computer hours of work. And in the video case, use of Archive, Edit hours of job, computer use etc etc.I think that this a central point.

We never make this cost evaluation but as we all know, when we start a PC is a cost, but may be many of us has no this problem because they use the pc and telefone and equipment that belong from their Organization.

The WSF 2021 virtual forum has shown one more time the centrality of the communication team made by a international group of mostly professionals that advocate their experience to support the forum process. 

The next time before launch “ 10 days of Action, mobilisation etc etc” it must be taken in account the technical aspect of doing a forum on web and consulte previously  the communication team to analyse what it is possible to do. This time it was really a gap in the communication and many members of the IC did not taken in account the fact that it was a different process that a normal forum in presence. 

Many of us thought to reproduce a normal forum on web and it was a mistake for me. The Wsf  got many meeting, like always without participation and we have to face the problem of internet connection that is a big barrier for many peoples around the world yet. 

H24 live streaming opening march

Collective FocusPuller got the idea of the H24 live video streaming for the Marcha virtual also because ws not clear the idea of the Marcha. It is the old ideas that we used in the 2008 but of course with other technology. That time we got a SatelliteTv channel that transmitted but just in one part of the planet , now with the web we can reach everywhere. We analyse how to do with the collaboration with Ian of Attac and then with Rosy and all the others involve in the tech support.  So we invented something that can show that the WSF is everywhere in the world and connected with the planet. 

A Note: to relaunch the image of the World Social Forum and to be attractive we need to do something in term of communication very impressive. If we will do H24 streaming that might be interesting also in term of innovation.

We did H24 streaming, with very few viewers but we test the format. 

In the future with a better organisation the FSM it could have some very good feed back in terms of communication and mobilisation. Honestly we were very, very lucky to did it using mostly free app find on the web. Thanks again to everybody that permitted and facilitate. 

No title no identity!

A very critical aspect of the WSF virtual 2021 that has no title put us in a  presence in the international political arena, that mean that we were not a news. And the media coverage was very small. The media team has few Topic to distribute, but this is a issue related of the fact that again we have no clear political message. Someone said that all what we do It is political in the forum, but is not enough to be attractive  for the new actor and for the media, also independent media and this is something that we have deeply to analyse. The media report show clearly the coverage the we got.

The video is also central in the forum , and will be central in the future. 

During the WSF2021 virtual we  used and tested  Peertube video platform https://joinpeertube.org/  that show his potentiality while the www.wsftv.net , the historical video web  site archive of the forum is still off line due finance problem. 

We used several streaming app, and with some limit due the develop in progress of the site we did many streaming.

The https://video.wsf2021.info was implemented and  by François Soulard of Dunia and it was used also in the FMET and in the same of the forum the tech team of peer tube launch the streaming app.

The activist sent more then 168 video that were uploaded on Peertube indipendent video platform and the subscribers are 91. 

https://joinpeertube.org/ is part of a network of different independent web platform Mastodon and Peertube federation made by a international network of IT activist and activist that now reach several million of peoples around the world. And this people we need also to reach. Mastodon that has a pool of activists of 3.800.000 subscribers. Pixel fed, Friendika, and some other indy web platform can also interact with Peertube. 

The numbers of viewers are very very few. This is in line with all the click on the WSF web environment. I think that we did in any case a good job , but we are just at the first step.

Some ideas for the next WSF virtual or mix format. 

The next virtual Forum, and also in presence,  must be from Wednesday to Sunday The launch Wednesday with a press conference- opening event and the forum. 

The forum has to be transmitted in streaming, and with different channel like we did. In other word we have to do h24 streaming for some days.

With less days, we can concentrate the effort and be more precise on some aspect that were not really well covered. 

The web tools permitted a refresh or consolidate the relation among organisation, movements, associations  and individual. The video streaming help to see each other on face and this of course in this terrible time it was good, but once again we were just few and lucky people that we can have the technology available to participate and we hope to be in presence very soon !!!!!!!
