As organizations of the poor in the U.S., we send our deepest sympathies, outrage and solidarity to our comrades in Tunisia and to the family, friends and comrades of Chokri Belaid. 
 
We were honored to be among heroes, such as Chokri, in the struggle for "Another World," in July in Monastir, and look forward to participating in the World Social Forum in Tunisia in March to continue the struggle for democracy and human rights in the Maghreb and around the world.

Chers ami, chères amies,
 
On est vraiment choqués par la terrible nouvelle de l'assassinat à Tunis de Chokri Belaid, avocat et leader démocratique.

On veut exprimer, d'abord à sa famille, et à vous tous/tes notre chagrin et nos condoléances.

Juste un an après le debut dans votre pays des revolutions arabes, un acte de violence assassine essaye de bloquer le processus qu'elle a fait démarrer.

Meme si on connait les difficultés du processus de transition democratique après les "revolutions", on s'attendait certainement pas une telle tragédie. 

La situation de tension dramatique que  cet assassinat denonce, nous pousse à une mobilisation et solidarité plus fortes, pour le soutien à vos luttes pour les droits, la justice sociale et la democratie, à toutes les luttes en cours dans la région.

On se sent plus encore engagé/es dans la mobilisation pour une participation massive au prochain Forum social mondial à Tunis, 26-30 mars.  

On est aussi engagé/es à participer à toutes les mobilisations qui sont en train d'etre convoqués en Italie aussi, comme dans d'autres pays europeens, en solidarité avec les milliers de tunisien/nes qui sont dans les rues de votre pays. 

On vous embrasse tous/tes chaleureusement, en attendant de nous rencontrer à Tunis bientôt
