DISABILITY AND INCLUSIVE CITIES:THE ROLE OF DATA AND EVIDENCE FOR EFFECTIVE PUBLIC POLICIES
ORGANIZER: UNESCO, ILO, WHO
Irakli Khodeli (Programme Specialist, Social & Human Sciences/SHS), UNESCO),
Alexander Hauschild (Inclusive Policy Expert), (Data expert UN Pulse Lab Jakarta), (TBC)
Persons with disabilities in Indonesia have figures varying dramatically between 11.5 to 24 million people, depending on the sources. Even though they represent the largest minority groups in Indonesia, there is a dearth of infrastructure and services for them. There is also a lack of data to illustrate their specific needs. This panel will share actions taken by the UN Partnership to Promote the Rights of Persons with Disabilities to facilitate a data revolution in this area.
