funding for the IRAQI SOCIAL FORUM

from "Martina Pignatti M." on Aug 01, 2013 05:16 PM
Dear all,

as I mentioned in one of our chat meetings, both Karibu Foundation
(Norway) and Fondation Assitance Internationale (Zwtizerland) are
supporting the ISF already (and ICSSI more generally). The existence of
the ISF secretariat and the fantastic work of people like Ali and Waled
are financially supported by them. Till now 10.100 USD have been secured
for the expenses of the forum itself, in September, but we need to
collect other 27.800 USD according to the budget that the ISF committee
sent us in July (attached), plus travel and food expenses for the
interpreters training in Shaqlawa.

We all need to work hard to get more funding this month. Tomorrow we
should issue an ICSSI newsletter dedicated to this topic, as we decided
yestersday during our chat. Use that tool to spread the info and push
people/organizations to contribute!

Thanks Tyler for joining us in the mailinglist, and for your support!

Martina

> When you say your organisation is supporting the Iraqi Social Forum, could I ask if this is financial support? Because the training for Iraqi interpreters is due to start in 3 or 4 weeks, and we haven't secured funding for that yet. We are still waiting to hear from Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. It is an important part of capacity building. For the forum. Obviously if you are already funding other parts of the forum this might be too much, and please all forgive me if I am overstepping my. Own brief here, but I am concerned that we haven't managed to get any answers from anyone yet!
