Under the slogan



The Iraqi Social Forum is holding
a conference to discuss Iraq’s national water policies, in corporation with
Save Tigris and the Iraqi Marshes Campaign, and with the support of Baghdad
Provincial Council, as the Turkish Republic continue it’s dam’s
building policies. The conference will be held in Al Aquass hall- Baghdad
International Hotel on the 22nd of March 2014 at 10.00 am Baghdad
Time.


The main
themes:

1.     
Introduction about the ISF and STIMC.

2.     
The current Iraqi water national policies and the horizons
for developing future policies.

3.     
The Environmental impacts of the law water levels resulting
from dams on the Headwaters of the rivers.




4.      The anticipated agricultural, economic,
and environmental status when the Iliso reservoir filling operation begins.




5.     
Legal options available
in front of the Iraqi authorities to ensure a equitable share in the waters of the
Tigris and Euphrates in the light of large-scale projects built on the headwaters
of the river in Turkey and Iran without consulting with Iraq.

For all our friends and colleagues out there who want to join
us in saving our natural and cultural heritage on the Tigris banks, you can
join us via Skype.
