Jeunesse solidaire au-delà des frontières
Conférence web internationale (Canada/Québec-Tunisie-Togo)

Où ???
UQAM : Jeudi 27 mars, 13h-15h - A-4180 (Aquin)

UQAM : Thursday, March 27th, 1pm to 3pm - A-4180 (Aquin)

Future of the planet interests you ? Social issues concern you ? Want to change the world ? Come and share yours opinions or ideas with young activists from here (Ottawa and Montreal) and Africa (Tunisia, Togo) on our common future and the role we can play to deal with the current power.
This international conference will bring together young activists from Ottawa, Montreal, Tunisia and Togo who will share their visions of their struggles. They will talk about the challenges they face, and the importance of social forums in linking youth initiatives, on regional, national and international levels.
Despite the differences of the political, economic and social context of each country, the overarching goals of youth movements around the world remains the same: to built a better world where youth voices are heard, and to work towards equality, where the fundamental human rights of all are respected.
This conference will take place on the opening day of the First Tunisian Youth Social Forum in Tunis, http://forumsocialjeunes.org which will run from March 27-30th, 2014. It will also be in preparation of the People's Social Forum, which will be held in Ottawa between August 21-24th, 2014. These two important social forums are part of a series of events leading up to the next World Social Forum in March 2015 in Tunis, as well as the following World Social Forum in August 2016 in Montreal.  http://openfsm.net/projects/wsf2012-support/wsf2014-calendar
Questions for the speakers :

  • What are the commonalities between Northern and Southern youth struggles?
