The Idea

 various international sports competitions are held in the most important capitals of the world. It is an opportunity for competition and a meeting between athletes of different nationalities, as well as an opportunity to bring joy and happiness to the faces of citizens. Enabling athletes and ordinary citizens of different nationalities, religions, languages and cultures to race freely in the city of Baghdad, united in the forces of terrorism, truly embodies the strength and faith of the Iraqi people in life, the dream that Iraqi citizens will regain their future in a climate of peace. The idea that Baghdad has a marathon is a dream for 2009, the fruit of the cooperation of Iraqi and international activists who want to send a message of peace from Baghdad and that all its citizens will live in peace and security in their city of Baghdad.

Why the Marathon in Baghdad? 

-Manufacturing an Iraqi-style sports event, an annual marathon in Baghdad.  

 -To confront the culture of violence and discrimination and to consolidate the culture of citizenship & peace using sports tools.

- Promoting sport as a healthy culture that needs attention.

- Reversing a different picture of Iraq, the Iraq we love, Iraq is a country of peace and harmony, Spread the spirit of joy and happiness among the various citizens, and break the barriers that divide the Iraqis sexually, nationally, religiously, sectarian.

 This year event,

which will start on the morning of 2019/11/8- Baghdad, is a multi-track marathon with 42 km & 21 km, and fun race 5 km.

we welcome international participants from all over the world.
