- Definean open spaceframe for the VOS- methodology and strategy(based on the idea to have a three months periodicity)

- Organize the 1st meeting
- Dream about crazy thing we would like to see happening in the VOS
- Have a little report about what is the report with the meeting on Idealoom, and what are the horizons
- Clarify concrete dates for the next VOS
We need to mature an“open space frame”( see the questions in the decide box below) in order to be able to set up a design VOS with a certain openness, that can hold together and be productive

Imagine the challenges of handling the concrete situations that can be faced during thenext“design VOS”
as we pretend to organize in an open space way (in the "design VOS" and "outreach VOS") , an open space public event ( the "public VOS") - how we deal with parallelism in the design VOS ? Zero paralelism? –what is the communication to inviting people to co facilitate next VOS that is think about formats and containers, , and not discuss the contents

1/ What and "Where" is VOS (ideological positioning and functions for its participants)

Adopt WSF Charter as a base reference , and also reformulate it
The World Social Forum is anopen meeting placefor reflective thinking, democratic debate of ideas, formulation of proposals, free exchange of experiences and interlinking for effective action, by groups and movements of civil society that are opposed to neoliberalism and to domination of the world by capital and any form of imperialism, and are committed to building a planetary society directed towards fruitful relationships among Humankind and between it and the Earth.

Le Forum se présente comme un processus +1+1+1 (apprenant et inclusif respectueux de la singularité) - un événement (idem “processus” et favorisant l’autonomie et la reliance de chacun.e)

La stratégie des facilitateurs VOS pourrait être d’ouvrir et maintenir un espace ouvert contre-hégémonique+1, horizontal pour des activités dialogiques auto organisés, pour former des coalitions d’acteurs orientées vers des actions

2/ why VOS, VOS What for(objectives)? ,

VOS is a fully on line proces-event born in the COVID19 lockdown context, the intention is
1/ to run the processon a quarterly basis ( astronomical dateswhich are common to all humanity)
2/ to be a useful connection oportunity for participants who might also be active in other processes/events, and not be linked toonlyspecific networks
3/ to explore the idea of an inclusive preparation /facilitation based 2 monthy events and on some basic principles

comme pour le cas du FSM, les événements encouragent des processus permanents+1. Le VOS émerge dans le contexte COVID +1. On s’appuie sur la charte FSM+1. Utiliser un langage qui colle à ce qu’on fait dans le VOS. a la lumière du contexte actuel.( propose un groupe de travail pour réviser la charte pas sur le fond mais sur le langage+1)

4/ How is facilitation organized?

There are biweekly meetings for acore team valid 3 months(with a commitment of its members to be active three months) which is renewed after each public event (made up of people who cooptthemselves based on actual tasks performed) , with two events where new people, join the team and take up tasks
people in the core team may define their objetives of facilitation in VOS at each edition while staying in the famre

  • Créer un canevas très ouvert. Gouvernance organisée vers l’organisation et la facilitation l’évènement. Pas un contenu plus important qu’un autre. Tous les réseaux sont les bienvenus.

  • 2/ ca veut dire que formellement parlant , il y a de la documentation mais il n'y a pas de "synthèse du VOS" - le VOS est conçu un processus-événement-espace- outil où les participants "autogèrent" des "activités" et présentent des "initiatives" ( pas de parole "au nom" du VOS- donc)"

5.a/ IdeaLoom
BienSurTerre.fr a financé la mise à disposition de IdeaLoom pour la première édition. L'outil sera figé le 29 avril 2020,(i-e no more work on data- frozen)date anniversaire.
BienSurTerre.fr réfléchit à mettre à disposition un espace IdeaLoom de manière pérenne, avec une logique de transparence des coûts, financé par qui trouve de la pertinence à le maintenir et le développer.
L'outil devrait donc être disponible pour un prochain VOS, si cela est pertinent.
BienSurTerre.fr peut conseiller sur la manière de l'utiliser en fonction des objectifs poursuivis contre rémunération.

6/ What is the global format of open space?,

the open space is online, there is a "event period" which can also be somehow diluted to allow more cross participacion and less paralelism
note: the "open space" is a political methodological concept for the whole VOS, is not an open forum which is a methodology for a particular activity:-)

1/- i have a reservation about associating a specific tool to the vos, and a precaution for associating a global deliverable to the VOS as open space - the tool supporting dialogue should in my opinion be a free option of each activity self organized in the VOS open space.

Quelle interaction entre plenières et "atelier" et partage/analyse des CR pour reveiller des synergies et besoins mutualisables.
Rethinking of plenary sessions, really inclusif?, with real "expertise content" and co-facilitated (backstage specially useful in distant format).



7/ What formats of participation are proposed to participants in VOS ?,

self organized activities ( by at least two collectives)? and
self organized initiatives ( by coalition of at least tow organizations/collectives) ?

(extra) Languages, event during preparing period?
Empowering participants-proposers by quick the on-line tools prefered choices thorught workshop (digital inclussion to less technophiles).


8/ how and when will those formats be implemented etc?

There is a proposal to merge design VOS + outreach VOS for preparing VOS2

The dates of the next VOS sessions :
prep session (1) on board (focused on facilitation) 21 april ? To be defined- proposal : May 2
prep session 2) let's sail (focused on mobilization) 21 may? To be defined
and 3) VOS “event” new archipel on sight (VOS) ! +1 +1 +1 Date to be defined
VOS in June 25 to 28 +1 ( consult WSFTE CC before hand) 21 june? (astronomical planetary common meaning) To be defined
VOS of 48 hours (some dilution in time also to be discussed) +1

Franck - other “events”/actors in other events can also make an activity in VOS event , we are not in competition , every facilitation team is autonomous - design VOS - with a deliverable /content, outreach/parteneering VOS (need ressources , partners) - then “the great circus” VOS - every month there is VOS going on, success will be if there is useful output , participants will decide, - we do what we can and hope that more will participate- it is a simpler scheme

Franck - the more we make vos the more we get skilled about making them, - idea was to give a rythm - coopt people liable to be interested - the challenge is to keep singularity and quality and trust and eficiency - get prepared for the next VOS, we succeeded we failed we are happy to live - we have an intention of regularly - we can push the next design VOS a bit - we need clarity and meaning - people understand quicl
