What is politics are about  his manners ..   so  that is new for US  on the whole, the national for the last  in 60 years Mississippi has been living with those type of  racists -  in the south politics is based  one the things  gave  on our organizing model    a lot of strength in our population    - is because white supremacy is  so visceral upfront and in our face  -no delusion about whether someone  is friend o enemy  it is  pretty clear to most folks without a serious political education  who is who  - what they about  political education   that is being done but other side of the equations -  on actual conditions   our challenge is what we are going to do  about the condition that we face   -   deft up conditions – which In the US take time to convince people they are actually in terrible condition

just for us this idea to fight for Municipal power comes in 70’s  . Jackson state university was one the university during Vietnam war where US army killed  several students  -that gives you a context there was an organization   provisional republic of  new afrika  - organization  of  people of African Descent ,  that made a  declaration of independence and began fighting 68  and began fight for self-determination  in 70 -  move made to make Mississippi  the capital   a small area outside,  and  immediately upon moving to Jackson they were attacked  by US government, there was   armed confrontation  august 71,  6 people were killed, and 50  ended up in prison, 11 of them for over 20 years  - so that was the genesis  beginning  the focus  - young activists from all over the country   who answered this call and move into Jackson -

what you see now  the work cooperation Jackson; chokwe being elected mayor  is not a new thing s is the result of years and years  of patient and systematic  organization    a critical thing   a lot of people think things  can be changed immediately- you-  need time, and this  I  would challenge in you context  - long term investment but over the last ten years was  qualitative shift  -  that work would enable to have  citywide presence ,  and now statewide and start experimenting  ,  particularly with running for  electoral politics , -its first phase was a test,  we wanted to know after 30 years of organizing  how many people  what was our impact  -how many people   believing  and fighting like us -  that was   the  real beginning honestly, and form  we  found quickly there were many people – and the neighbouhooghd we started  winning  election  what kind  of things to  put in practice to change the situation ,  – some of the key thing  our vision is a broadening vision……the key . what  response from people assemblies    our proposal    to start changing  -

we  transition city  vision 4 .5    point  -

1/ solidarity city  cooperation Jackson  comes  in that is building   economic democracy,   we started doing that , in US  socialism is a terrible word,  Bernie sanders  is a lunatic,  untrue to a certain extent,  but they are still  afraid /

2 a new path of our vision  from Barcelona- building  fab city   integrate that in the  use  local production , enable the community  own and control  - which historically  the black community  fundamentally out of in the US   - historically the black community we are part of the machinery  this is a new developing for sus  -

3/ sustainable city  e zero emission city  by 2025   very important a lot of portion  of Jackson will be underwater -  a lot of the   southern Mississippi  disappearing fast  if you look at  the map - the ma 50 years  is different sea rising -

4 .human rights   HR framework  that our organization   MXGM   as adapted primarily taking    from vision lf Malcolm X  liberal  what we call to  people centered human  collective rights and struggle  self-determination  emerging component

5/  workers city   -very much  emerging  is based upon of an  attempts to build a broad coop union which takes in  all of the working class people within the city and put them under a  big umbrella  union  IPW- -  the point of this is very particular  challenges  it is  right to work state or better said a  right work less state –which mean union do not have  no any power – we have  real challenge confronting  no time to talk about - include  this transition vision  -critical component  is missing   really put this notion is  - re centering human activity in the HR at the center of the   - transforming  process,  including transform ourselves  and our living conditions ,  these are thing develop at the core of our vision -  I can talk more one day of this
