1. Sem acusações pessoais ou de "grupos contra grupos";

2. Focar nas questões de fato que estão sendo apresentadas (muito mais substantivo do que adjetivado, entre elas a do FSM como Sujeito Político Global);

Hi Chico, thank you very much for your substantive, clear and above all fraternal and respectful text.

As you know, I am proposing that the Collective of Brazilian organizations that are part of the IC schedule this debate soon. Several colleagues have already agreed.

I believe that there is a need for at least three previous agreements for this debate (which should also be scheduled in the IC):

1. No personal accusations or "groups against groups";

2. Focus on the real issues that are being presented (much more substantive than adjectival, among them that of the WSF as a Global Political Subject);

3. Subsidized by previously presented texts, if possible relatively short, focused on the proposals and justifications.

I am also writing a text like this to support this debate - and I will send it to you soon.

My impression (and concern) is that, this time, this debate will have an outcome until Mexico, for better or for worse. And it could result, if it is negative, in a division or "split" of the WSF.

As I have written elsewhere, I believe that it is possible (and necessary) for us to build collectively (in the IC and beyond) a new political cohesion at a higher level than the current one.

As a co-founder of the WSF, like you, Oded etc, and one of the drafters of the Charter of Principles, I defend the values and the innovative political culture that characterize the WSF process.

In my opinion, the search for a new cohesion at a higher level - if the debate deems it necessary - should defend, preserve and reaffirm the values of the WSF.

I advocate some changes in the role of the WSF and I have one or another interpretation of the Charter of Principles that would support these changes.

I also have a somewhat different assessment than you do about the greater or lesser relevance of the WSF, say, in the last decade.

Simply put, the contradictions and crises have worsened and overlapped in the world in recent times, generating new needs for political confrontation at the global level, and with that, the WSF has become both increasingly necessary and increasingly less important and relevant (evaluations that, for sure, have to be the subject of the debate).

Another challenge around which there must be consensus is the need to transform the WSF "into a permanent and active process" that is not reduced practically to "events". But it is necessary to debate and deepen what this means in conceptual and practical terms.

I participated in the events to which you refer in the "warm-up" of the Forum of Resistances. They were important, they added and accumulated experiences and strengths (including those of young people). But much more is needed, as I understand it.

Big hug.
