Saludos

Hi everyone, I briefly tell you that yesterday's RoundTable went well. ( in mexico titled present resen and future of WSFLink: /projects/wsfic_fsmci/poa20-input1.1 ) WSF) Good interventions by the panelists( Leo Boaventura Francine)and the public, although there were some complaints and claims about how the Forum is being conducted, which were expected. It didn't go further than that. Boaventura said that Mexico must appropriate its FSM21 project and do its work with sovereignty and independence of criteria. I think we agree and that will continue. There is certainly much to do and the picture looks complicated, but that is inevitable, not impossible to overcome. Find democratic and effective ways to debate and make decisions. Connect with the IC, without being subject to it, argue and convince, as in 4Q, which by the way doesn't pay much attention to us. See you on the 15th. Let's go ahead.

Hola Oscar (y todxs)

Saludos

Pierre

Hello Oscar (and all)

)Thank you for your message.(in blue just above )

We were able to watch the discussion on video(https://m.facebook.com/Centro-Vlady-662942993843120/videos/?_rdr)and appreciate what exactly was said in this self-organized activity,(some transcripts and translation may come later)

Without going into details for now, I want to comment on your sentence:

Boaventura said that Mexico must appropriate its FSM21 project and do your job with sovereignty and independence of criteria. I think we agree and so we will have to continue

We left a meeting in Porto Alegre where the IC gave its support to a process-event of world social forum in Mexico, proposed and presented by Rosa and Hector, and that implicitly as usual would be built within the framework of the Charter of principles and in joint responsibility with the IC.

At no time in this two-day discussion came the issue of modifying this Charter as a reference of the WSF 2021 process, or of questioning the co-responsibility of the IC, which was manifested by the creation of 3 working groups : communication finance articulation, bound for a meeting in Mexico in April or May.

It was there, in Porto Alegre, that this discussion about the reference frame of WSF2021 should be made. This is a broad consensus in the IC, even among people who may otherwise have different opinions about the Charter.

No one from the Mexico facilitator group, or from the IC and who could not come in person, made online interventions or sent a written input to contribute to this meeting by questioning for the WSF2021 the reference to the Charter of principles or co-responsibility with the IC, so that Things be clear before making a decision.

Therefore, it can be argued that the facilitating committee Mexico undertook to co-construct the process - event WSF 2021 with the Charter of principles as a reference, and in co-responsibility with the IC.

Yesterday was a self-organized activity unrelated formally to the Mexican facilitator committee.

In recent days I have circulated this link that proposes contextualizing this activityhttp://openfsm.net/projects/pfsm20/pfsm20-insumo89,. it also contains an invitation to make inputs in the DIBCO1 initiative on the future of the forum.

Of course, participants can express their opinions about the forum within the framework of this activity. Particularly in his second intervention,(and it is good to refer to the verbatim after 1h38mn in the video)Boaventura, representing UPMS in the IC and who did not participate in the recentPorto Alegre IC in presence or online, invited Mexicans to self-institute as "Constituents of the forum", along directions divergent from the charter of principles, .and the practice of decision making in social forum meeting facilitating committees

This opinion and invitation are in frontal inconsistency with the decision process FSM 2021 that has been followed ten days ago in Porto Alegre and that engages the Mexican facilitator collective.

Hence, Oscar, since you also address the whole IC in your message, I think that, beyond me, and taking into account what was actually said in the activity, many people will not agree with your formulation

"I think we agree (with Boaventura's approach that Mexico must appropriate its WSF21 project and do its work with sovereignty and independence of criteria) and so we must continue."

In some group discussions that we had with you in the framework of the Mexican facilitator committee before the Porto Alegre meeting, you agreed to accept that this WSF 2021 forum would be built within the framework of the Charter of Principles and with a thematic space for self-managed debates about the use and future of the forum.

I hear you many times say that the letter of principles is "interpretable." It would be good if you illustrate it, because on a personal basis, I find it difficult to interpret articles 1 and 6 out of their literal meaning that sets up a fairly clear framework

Without adding more for now

Regards

Pierre

Thanks Pierre for the communication of your personal interpretation of the excellent debate we had yesterday in Mexico. I am sure all will take note of what you personally think, knowing you do not speak in the name of the IC.
