Dear rita and mallory (and all),

your proposal and their tone and energy are exciting indeed. It is great to read about the flurry of activitiy for the wef-palestine and in general, towards Dakaar. I look forward to discuss all this with you in Dakar.

Question: as i won't be able to go to palestine, as much as i tried to find a way, i was wondering what you guys are doing in terms of Expanded so that i can be part of the activities even from afar.

Best

Hi, everyone-

I agree with Rita: how can we make a list of all of the different projects of the Comm Comm and ensure that they are supported by everyone during the WEF. This will be good practice for any upcoming forums as well.

And thanks to Antonio for asking for some updates:

1 - For uploading "on-demand" video. We plan to ask everyone to upload their videos to WSFTV.net on the wef-palestine.org media page. Then, we can embed the video on our site from there. It is a perfect alternative to y&*tube, which was unfortunately used in the past for the existing videos on the site (please accept our apologies).

2 - The streaming will be done on Free software, red5, so there will be no ads. We will use the two WSF servers (in NY and Europe) for the red5 platform. It will be easy to take the embed code, as for all flash players, and put it on wsftv.net as an embedded tag. The only benefit to watching the streaming video directly on the wef-palestine.org website is that we will also have embedded chat rooms for interactivity between participants outside of Palestine.

3 - As alternative media, we would like support in reaching out to international journalists that can volunteer their time to helping us publish our articles out of the office and also to upload and post any articles and other media that is produced during the forum to wef-palestine.org/media. As you know, the success of the forum will in part rest on our ability to project a unified Palestine. We hope that you can help us do that.

Also, please subscribe to our newsletter for ideas on articles and angles for coverage of the forum, such as field trips, interlink/expanded, culture, etc. etc. Can this newsletter be published through the Virtual Media Center, for example?

Proposal - Maybe we can schedule an online meeting for the WEF, Comm Comm, and international media activists sometime before the forum. For example. there is a press conference in Jerusalem on October 28th in the morning of the opening day. Can we have some parallel or equivalent activity to, as Rita said, ensure that we are all working together?

Who from our team will be in Palestine?

Yours,
-Mallory

Dear friends

Towards the WEF Palestine, we are in coordination with Stop the Wall for an initiative of shared mediatic maraton on BDS campagn (booked for november). Stop the Wall are drafting the call. We are just starting contacts with activist media like Altermondo, Ejoussour, Alai/Minga, Caros Amigos and others. And wsftv is already onboard for videos.
Let's  Com Com participants to build this action together?

For the WEF, we can take part in a workshop on this issue. Let's go to talk?

An add question:

How Com Com projects should to work together for the WEF comunication tools and initiatives?

Rita
