> With the organisation of the World Assembly of Migrants, the Associations based on Migration and the Solidarity Associations (WAM) at WSF in Tunis we started a process of convergence on a global level. 
> This Assembly gave us the opportunity to elaborate a synthesis of the workshop recommendations organised in Tunis as well as drawing up an action Agenda. In respect to all decisions taken, to facilitate the exchange of information and all possible convergence and in order to start a follow-up of the decisions, we collected some information concerning the next steps.

> In the next two months, three events will take place as established in the Agenda in Tunis:
> 1.     23rd May – International Day for “Universal Citizenship and worldwide freedom of movement and settlement” organised by Emmaüs International, the Foundation Danielle Mitterrand and the Movement Utopia, founding members of the “Organisation of Universal Citizenship” (O.U.C.) – Paris

> 2.     6th of June – Preparatory process for the UN High Level Dialogue (UNHLD) on Migration and Development 2013 – Athens

> 3.     7th-8th of June – AlterSummit – Athens

> 1.     International Day for “Universal Citizenship and worldwide freedom of movement and settlement”
> This event will take place on the 23rd of May at the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris and will be divided in three strong moments:
> o   A conference/debate with personalities on the issue of worldwide freedom of movement and settlement;
> o   The official handing over of the first “Universal Citizenship “;
> o   A reciprocal exchange with the headquarters of the United Nations in New York to request the organisation of an international conference on the issue of worldwide freedom on movement.
> Many personnalities have confirmed their participation: Federico Mayor Zaragoza, former Director General of Unesco, Albert Tévoédjré, Mediator of the Republic of Bénin, Riccardo Petrella, Academic, Florence Arthaud, navigator, Reza DEGHATI, photographer, Pierre Bergé, entrepreneur, Tiken Jah Fakoly, artist, Rona Hartner, artist, Oliveiro Toscani, photographer, ….other confirmations are awaited.

> 2.     Preparatory process for the UN High Level Dialogue (UNHLD) on Migration and Development
> The UN High Level Dialogue (UNHLD) on Migration and Development will be organised in New York on the 3rd-4th of October 2013.
> Transnational Migrant Platform, member of the Global Coalition on Migration (GCM), has initiated a process to prepare migrant and civil society organizations input to the UNHLD.
> The TMP preparatory process is holding regional consultations to prepare inputs and proposals to the UNHLD during two main events:
> o   The preparatory one-day informal interactive UN hearings with representatives of civil society, New York on July 15th;
> o   The UNHLD event on October 3-4, 2013 – this will be an event under the UN General Assembly and civil society will participate inside (with interventions & lobby) & outside (with a forum & a street rally).

> The Alter Summit unites European forces – trade unions and social movements, citizens, feminists, ecologists – who fight to democratically restructure a social, ecological and feminist Europe. And to impose, against the privileges of the banks, rights for all: work, health, housing, education, culture …
> The Alter Summit wishes to create a dynamic to make possible this other Europe, through European, national and local actions. In order to do that, they organise an “AlterSummit” on the 7th and 8th of June in Athens. All organisations, movements and citizens are invited.
> Athens is considered as the first step towards a real European social movement.
> 
> The Facilitation Group of the Tunis Process participated to the preparatory meeting of the AlterSummit which took place in Zagreb on the 10th and 11th of May with the aim to include migration issues in the Athens event and in the final Manifesto (in collaboration with several adhering and non-adhering organisations to the Tunis process. 
> 
> During the Alternative Summit in Athens there will be several thematic assemblies (with the very concrete aim to convergence and for the organisation of common actions). One of these assemblies will be on migration which will take place on Friday 7th of June (to be confirmed). To avoid the segregation of migation issues in this thematic assembly, several Belgian, Italian, Greek and Holland associations have decided to organise themselves in order to bring migration issues in all the other thematic assemblies planned by the Alternative Summit. > Le dialogue de Haut Niveau des NU (DHNNU) sur la Migration et le Développement aura lieu à New York le 3 et le 4 octobre 2013.
> La Plate-forme Transnational des Migrants (PTM), en tant que membre de la Coalition Mondiale sur la Migration (CMM), a lancé un processus visant à préparer la contribution des organisations de la société civile et des migrants au DHNNU. Le processus préparatoire tiendra des consultations régionales pour préparer des contributions et des propositions au DHNNU lors de deux événements principaux :
> o   L’Audience des NU de la société civile interactive informelle à New York le 15 juillet ;

> 3.     Sommet Alternatif/AlterSummit
> Le Sommet Alternatif rassemble des forces européennes — syndicats et mouvements sociaux, citoyens, féministes, écologiques — qui se battent pour refonder démocratiquement une Europe sociale, écologique et féministe. Et imposer, contre les privilèges des banques, des droits pour toutes et tous : emploi, santé, logement, éducation, culture…
> Le Sommet Alternatif veut créer une dynamique pour rendre cette autre Europe possible, à travers des actions européennes, nationales et locales. 
> Pour ce faire, il organise un « Sommet alternatif » les 7 et 8 juin à Athènes. Organisations, mouvements et citoyens y sont invités.
> Athènes se veut comme une première étape, vers un véritable mouvement social européen.
> Le Groupe de Facilitation du Processus de Tunis a participé à la réunion préparatoire du Sommet Alternatif qui a lieu à Zagreb le 10 et 11 mai avec l’objectif d’inclure les questions migratoires dans l’événement d’Athènes et dans le Manifeste final (en collaboration avec plusieurs organisations adhérentes ou pas au processus de Tunis). 
> Lors du Sommet Alternatif à Athènes il y aura plusieurs assemblées thématiques (avec un objectif très concret de convergence et d’organisation d’actions communes) entre lesquelles une sur la migration qui aura lieu le vendredi 7 juin (à confirmer). Pour éviter le cloisonnement des questions migratoires dans l’assemblée thématique migration, plusieurs associations belges, italiennes, grecques et hollandaises ont décidé de s’organiser pour porter la migration dans les autres assemblées thématiques prévues par le Sommet Alternatif. > Durante el Foro Mundial de Túnez iniciamos un proceso de convergencia a nivel mundial con la organización de la Asamblea Mundial de l@s Migrantes, de las personas de origen migrante y de las asociaciones de solidaridad (AMM).

> El proceso de preparación se estructurará mediante consultaciones regionales que elaborarán sugerencias y propuestas al DANNU con respecto a  los dos principales encuentros que se realizarán: 
> o   La Audiencia en Naciones Unidas de la sociedad civil interactiva informal en Nueva York el 15 de julio;

> El summit alternativo reúne organizaciones europeas - sindacatos y movimientos sociales, ciudadan@s, feministas, ecologístas - que luchan por refundar democráticamente una Europa social, ecológica y feminista, contra los privilegios de los bancos y por los derechos para tod@s: empleo, salud, casa, educación, cultura, etc.
> El summit alternativo tiene como obietivo favorecer una dinámica que ayude a concretizar la idea de otra Europa posible, mediante acciones europeas, nacionales y locales. Para ello organiza el "Summit Alternativo" los días 7y 8 de junio en Atenas. Organizaciones, movimientos y ciudadan@s están invitad@s.

> Para no limitar solamente la temática de las migraciones a la asamblea específica sobre este argumento varias asociaciones belgas, italianas, grecas y holandesas han decidido organizarse para llevar a las demas asambleas temáticas la cuestión de las migraciones. It is important to recall that according to a Resolution adopted by the General Assembly in December, organizations without ECOSOC status wanting to participate in either or both events will have to be approved by UN Member States on a "non-objection basis" before the 15th of June (as required for that “non-objection process, we will be submitting the list of organizations and participants who have registered without ECOSOC status). Non-ECOSOC organizations and participants will be informed whether they were so approved by 17 June 2013 latest.

> Information on the possibility and procedure to apply for funding to help (partially) with the costs of travel and participation will be sent out in the coming week to all who have registered in this process and also the broader mailing list of civil society participants in meetings of the Global Forum on Migration and Development in recent years.  However, such funding is quite limited—about 70 participants total (counting both the Informal Hearings and the HLD itself). With that in mind, priority will be given to leaders in migration and development activities at grass roots, national or regional levels among [a] organizations and participants from developing and low income countries, and [b] migrant and diaspora organizations.
