Press release because of the arrest of the photographers Raul Capin and Adolfo Lujan in Madrid
Today 23rd May demonstration at 6 pm in Madrid

The collectives that signed below want to express our repulse about the events happened today, May 22, 2013.Today, the press and the right to information have been censored once again, like the hundreds of citizens
who are trying to silence in every manifestation, escrache, concentration… because of the violent actions of the security forces.
Today, Raul Capín (DID Journalist photographer and contributor to Workers World) and Adolfo Lujan, have been arrested in his own home, accused of disorders and “undermining the authority”. Raul has been identified in many
occasions and identified as a “infiltrated photographer” by the mass medium like ABC, LA RAZÓN … once again, the media points and the state arrests, represses and censors.
Adolfo and Raúl are inconvenient witnesses of the many abuses committed in our city against those persons that are not able to defend themselves from the excesses of authority.
Today, more than ever, we all are Raúl Capín and Adolfo Lujan, we all have the right to be informed, and the photojournalists, editors, cameras, and citizens are our eyes, hands, ears … they are not going to shut up us.
We demand to the Government Deputation to release without charges both our comrades Raúl Capín and Adolfo Lujan.
We demand the end of persecution and repression against the people that freely exercise their right to information and to those who oppose themselves against improper actions that are intended to make a small political and financial elite richer at the expense of the majority’s suffering.
NO MORE ATTACKS TO THE PRESS. EFFECTIVE FREEDOM FOR INFORMATION NOW.
