No matter what challenge you have chosen we can all do something to refuse

------------------------------------------------------------
Since it's invention a little over a hundred years ago, plastic has become
part of our daily lives. It's a useful material but is designed to last
forever yet increasingly we are using it for items such as packaging,
straws and bottles that we use for a few minutes and then we throw it
"away". Despite the "recycling symbol" on packaging the worldwide average
recycling rate is about 14% with most destined for landfill, incineration
or litter. With approximately 8 million tonnes of plastic entering the
worlds oceans each year it's estimated that by 2050 there will be more
plastic in the ocean than fish. It entangles wildlife and can be ingested
by creatures from plankton to whales and everything in between. Most of it
has been in our hands and those same hands hold the solutions. By taking on
the challenge, refusing single-use plastic in our own lives we can together
make a difference.

** Starting off
------------------------------------------------------------
One of the biggest benefits of the challenge is learning new habits (they
say it takes 30 days). Plastic often equates with convenience so its best
to plan ahead. Put your reusable bags, water bottles, coffee cups, straws,
utensils in a handy place (bag, car or by the front door).
