    Dear Jai and All,
Herewith share the good news of the cancelation of the imminent
zonification plan to urbanize and industrialize the Valley of Lurin, South
of Lima. This valley and its wetlands are a few of the green areas left
from insane urbanization of the Peruvian valleys and natural reserves. This
kind of insanity unveils the pandemics of corruption and shortsightedness
in the past 500 years, nowadays dramatized by the Amazon in flames. This
victory was won by a coalition of grassroots organizations and persons
around the charismatic leadership of Leyla Berrocal, an environmental and
climate activist. We need these stories of success in the long struggle
ahead. Those who fought hard and effectively to gain this battle are aware
that the corrupt forces behind this attempted ecocide won't give up easily
    their greed.
Bravo, Leyla and the good people of Valle of Lurin. Your struggle is our
    struggle!
    Abrazos fraternales.
    Azril
