Appel des mouvements urbains d'Istanbul – HIC Habitat International Coalition

A l'opinion mondiale et à la presse internatioanle :

Un gouvernement, qui manque autant de conscience que d'humanité, agit avec
une violence extrème dans presque toute la ville d'Istanbul depuis la nuit
dernière, bafouant l'honneur et de la dignité du peuple à un point
inégalé. Une nouvelle page est malheureusement venue noircir d'avantage le
tableau déjà tristement célèbre controversé qu'offre la Turquie en matière
de droits humains.

L'Histoire retiendra certainement pas ce gouvernement, avec sa police
brutale, ses gouvernants incompétants, ses médias malhonnêtes et sa
justice dévoyée. Une cruauté inimaginalble, qui rappelle des temps de
guerre, est actuellement mise en oeuvre systématiquement.

Non contents d'avoir ouvertement bafoué les droits humains aux yeux du
monde entier, le gouvernement et ses portes paroles ainsi que le préfet
d'Istanbul ont choisi de s'en prendre à des citoyens Turcs et du monde
entier d'une manière brutale et éhontée, invoquant pour se justifier des
mensonges sur des « groupes marginaux » et des « actes de vandalisme ».

La nuit dernière, des « robocops » semblant programmés pour tuer femmes,
enfants, personnes agées et malades sans distinction, ont attaqué la foule
paisible qui s'était rassemblée tout au long de la journée au Parc Gezi.
Des bombes lacrymogènes ont été lancées dans des hôpitaux et des maisons
où des personnes s'étaient réfugiées. Les blessés qui avaient été emmenés
à l'infirmerie de fortune dans l'hôtel Divan ont été re-gazés
d'innombrables fois.

En outre, des balles de caoutchouc et des cannons à eau ont été utilisés.
Mais l'eau des canons contenait une substance chimique non identifiée de
nature acide, provoquant chez de nombreuses personnes des rougeurs et des
démangeaisons, des allergies et des lésions ouvertes de la peau.  La
composition exacte de l'eau projetée reste inconnue à cette heure.

En un mot, la nuit dernière à Istanbul une sauvagerie rappelant celle des
atrocités de guerre a régné sur tout Istanbul.

Nous voudrions maintenant poser une question : n'est-ce pas plutôt tout ce
que nous venons de décrire qui relève du « vandalisme » ?

Nous voudrions aussi demander aux souverains qui gouvernent en divisant le
peuple, en exacerbant les tensions et en poussant les gens dans leurs
retranchements extrèmes, est-ce cela que vous appelez la paix ?
Le seul chemin vers la paix serait-il d'appliquer les ordres du
gouvernement ? Quel genre de gouvernants pensez-vous être si vous répondez
aux précédentes questions par « oui », est-ce cela que vous nommez
démocratie ?

Nous lançons un appel à tous les membres du parlement, de la majorité
comme de l'opposition, que leur silence a rendus complices de cette
répression, ainsi qu'aux médias qui ont adopté le language de cette
répression, et aux membres des forces de police qui, au mépris des droits
humains, se sont transformés en « robocops » barabares, à eux tous qui
pensent qu'ils n'auront pas de comptes à rendre ni ne seront jugés pour
leurs actes nous disons : au nom de l'humanité, écoutez avant tout la voix
de votre conscience !

Nous souhaitons aussi interpeller le monde entier, en particulier tous les
institutions internationales des droits humains, dont la Turquie est
partie prenante, nous leur demandons de nous aider a rendre notre voix
audible dans notre contestation de ce gouvernement qui a fait de la
sauvagerie et de la cruauté sa façon de s'adresser à son peuple. S'il vous
plait, entendez notre voix et faites le nécessaire pour mettre un terme à
ces atrocités !
