World Forum of Alternative  Media opens subscriptions


To happen in January 26th and 27th, the event is part of the calendar  
for the World Social Forum 2009, in Belém do Pará.


The subscriptions for the World Forum of Free Medias (WFFM) are open,  
in the january 26th and 27th, the event is part of the activities for  
the World Social Forum 2009. The free subscriptions are done through  
the website "http://forumdemidialivre.blogspot.com". The production of  
the WFFM suggest to the makers of free medias that they should include  
their vehicles on the link "Mapeamento da Mídia Livre" (Free Media  
Mapping), available in the website anda give informations about their  
media on the act of subscription.

With the participation of independent vehicles os media production  
from several countries, the meeting aims to built alternatives on the  
making of informations, to politically organize the international free  
media, to discuss alternatives of financing and sharing of contents,  
to broadcast new possibilities of acting made available by the new  
tecnologies e to sum the strengths of action in the multiple fronts of  
democratic communication.

The schedule for the WFFM foresees the realization os two discussion  
tables in morning of the 26th, with the subjects "How to Enlarge Free  
Media Activism" and "The Media and the Crisis". By the afternoon,  
there will be two other moments, the "Shared Communication in the WSF  
Semminar" and the "Self-managed activities", in which the participant  
of the Forum becomes the main character. In the 27th, there will  
happen the Ending Plenum, with the gathering of proposals and the  
writing of a summary document.

The WFFM is a consequence of the I Forum of Free Media, which happened  
at Rio de Janeiro in June, 2008. Bringing together more than 500  
activists, jornalists, teachers, students and enterpreneurs, the event  
meant an unique politic union between the main independent media  
brazillian vehicles, generating conjoint forms of acting. In October  
23th, the Executive Workgroup of the WSF launched the Free Media  
Manifest, with the ten promisses of the movement and eight main  
proposals, among which the realization WFFM in Belém.

The manifest got the adherence of 29 entities and movements and of 25  
independent national vehicles. The movement generated the regional  
mobilization in several states of Brasil, with the realization os  
local foruns and semminars.
